The one with the crowbar and the pool. But they were all pretty brutal.
One thing I did noticed is that Reacher used a lot of headbutts more than most action movies protagonists, really made his oppressing physique shows
Pretty consistent with the books. In the books, he takes the bad dudes quicker. They extended the scenes.
I loved that one guy headbutt Reacher, only for him to reel back and unleash a devastating headbutt in return. - 2:02

The man was an absolute tank in this show. Even though he was in some precarious situations, you knew he was going to prevail.

I like his use of the palm of his hand, elbows, and headbutts. It’s more realistic than just punching all the time, you’re bound to break your hands by doing so.
Was looking for this comment before I said the same thing. The use of elbows is outstanding.
I miss the techniques of a trained soldier. I loved how Cruise does it, but I would prefer Ritchson and with more style of fighting. But for a series it's great for now.

I really love how often he uses his elbow instead of risking his hand. When you can, use your elbow, it'll do more damage and hurt less while keeping your physical integrity.
The skin on your elbow doesn't have many nerve endings. Grab your elbow skin and pinch it as hard as you can. You won't feel the slightest pain.The Knee is the same way. But if you skin them, it hurts . Go figure!
I thought he was using his massive FOREARMS, not his elbow.
Using your forearm makes more sense than fists OR elbow, I think.

The fact that they had to rush this show due to a set date. And Alan Ritchson suffered several setbacks in health during production is a wonder he could perfome the way he did

I’ve read every one of Lee child’s books. The way he writes you end up with a visual of who it is. He is DEFINITELY the person you visualize. I’ve read all of the reacher series
Which is exactly why I enjoy reading Lee Childs, very descriptive, puts you right there in the middle of the story as if you were a live spectator. And this guy nailed that role.

me too - decent stories but in the end I got disenchanted with Lee Child's lack of character development ... not to mntion the price on Amazon to download his books. I've now found better for less than half the price

These fights were super impressive, but what’s more impressive is his ability to hold his breath while unconscious
That's probably related to the mammalian diving reflex; depending on how cold that water was, Reacher's cardiovascular system would've reacted by constricting blood vessels, slowing his heart rate, and redirecting most of the bloodflow to his organs. Which is a lotta words for saying it's possible he just plain stopped breathing as a result until an additional adrenaline spike roused him.
The marital arts director , his team and all the stunts men are the critical roles for all the scenes. Impressive!

I love him as Reacher! I just wished there weren't the constant misunderstandings surrounding him when you know he's just fighting the injustices wherever he goes! He always bounces back after brutal fights and is raring for the next battle!

Just a guy that rarely gets the girl, usually doesn't get paid, gets beaten and or shot; while righting wrongs just on his conscience and standards. The are all great.

This is the best show Prime has put out yet. Absolutely cannot wait for season 2.
The fact he uses his forearms to deliver blows to protect his hands shows that he knows what he is doing. It is all about eliminating the threat as fast as possible.

I've been reading Lee Child's Jack Reacher books since the early 2000's and love every one of them. Alan Ritchson is sooooo Jack Reacher. Can't wait for the next season.

In both Reacher movies and in this show Reacher has some tough fights, while in the novels he is a pure brute force. Unstopable. Barely has an opponent who can make him sweat.

Tom Cruise is watching this and realizing that's what the real Jack Reacher looks like.
The reason I like this series apart from the more accurate portrayal of Jack, is the fact that they edit the fights like old martial arts films - wide angle shots so you can catch all the action, then cut to the insert after the first hit lands to sell the impact. They aren’t cutting the shots right at the point of impact. Makes all the hits more intense.
It's always exciting when a talented filmmaker can do justice to a beloved book and bring it to life on screen. I'm hopeful that there will be more adaptations of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series in the future, as the combination of thrilling action and intriguing characters would make for an incredible television series.

I was bit sceptic watching beginning of first series but after half an hour or so guy nailed it ...spot on couldnt find a better actor for reacher...
I did like the Tom Cruise films but my wife has read all the books and kept saying he was supposed to be a massive fella and this guy is certainly that. He plays the part perfectly. Funny though as I saw an off screen chat with him buying coffee and talking to his colleagues. He was totally different almost borderline camp( I don't have a problem with that incase it's questioned, then they ask him to order the coffee as Reacher and wow, what a change. A very talented actor, I hope he doesn't get type cast as a ' Reacher' because I think he's probably very adaptable in his acting. I've never seen him in anything else. Anyone know of other stuff he's done ? Very cool. He should play a bady in a Mission Impossible film, I think he'd be great !
This show ended up defying all expectations. Finding out Thad from Blue Mountain State was gonna be Reacher i doubted the show but then i saw his transformation and knew he was gonna be great. The show is 100x better than the Tom Cruise movie and I can’t wait for season 2!
Tom Cruise fell very “short” in many ways as Reacher, how could Hollywood do that to “Reacher” except for money and the ego of Cruise.
This was really the only series on Amazon I could rate with a perfect 5/5.

Alan Ritchson seems to really care about the character he plays and about the source material. And that is in times where tv shows and movies often get changed "for modern audiences" a very cool thing. i fully support directors and actors who are enthusiastic about the movies they do and the characters they play. I dont have time for "willow", "Rings of power", "Witcher Blood Origin", "She-Hulk" and all the other time stealers, but i will watch s2 of Reacher. Its beeing made to entertain, not to educate!

For me Alan Ritchson is a g r e a t actor. He is at the same height like Arnold and Stallone shows. He could make memorable shows in the future. For me his shiws are far better than todays Jason Statham, Chris Hermsworth abd the Rock.

Does anyone else appreciate that Reacher's love interest is named after one of filmdom's earliest superstars? Roscoe Conklin Arbuckle was the first moviestar to earn over a million dollars per year in the early days of silent films. He was known as "Fatty Arbuckle". Thank you to the writers for this nod to one of the all-time greats who was robbed of the prime of his carreer!

What an outstanding series! I have "Binge-Watched" it twice, and may well do it again. This made the two Cruise movies look foolish.
