I miss being a teenager back then and have a shitload of great bands to discover, one after the other. And TC was one of the albums that I could listen to non stop.
The snare drum sounds beautiful in this performance!

I’ve always loved the acoustic versions of all these songs, but have ever only seen/heard them in played acoustic in the early-mid 2000’s- current.
LOVE seeing these acoustic when those songs were just out.!! (And when I first fell in love with them.. I’m old😩)

Been my boys for 25 years. Run only second to The Beatles for me personally. My whole family was brought up on LIVE. Met them in Sydney in 2001 and seen them 9 times and Ed twice.... #winning

I was about 13 when this record came out and originally thought when Ed sang "pinned down and abused" in All Over You he was saying "peein' down in the buttes." I still laugh about it.
That is pretty funny. I am still discovering proper lyrics to songs I heard in my childhood and teenage years 😂

They were always solid. As a teen I always lumped them into the "REM group" genre. They are better than that though, but they do have that influence.
Their first album is simply sublime. One of the most musically and thematically mature debut records ever, IMO
