A Christmas tradition! A big number of them Finnish metal artists, and Amaranthe's Elize Ryd from Sweden, have a series of concerts touring in many cities, perform Christmas songs metal versions, and traditional Christmas songs too. And they record studio albums as well, I suppose this is from one of those. A very popular event, and albums too.

Do more "Raskasta Joulua" songs, please. They are mostly heavy versions of traditional Christmas Songs. Yes ...it is a special group of artist together lead by the guitarist Erkka Korhonen (soloing in 5:30).

Back in the day we had Band Aid. The heavy metal world formed their own collaboration band called Hear 'n' Aid and released 'Stars'. The legendary Ronnie James Dio was among the singers.
The Fins have done a cover version for their 'Heavy Christmas' or Raskasta Joulua concert and this is what you reacted to. They featured artists from the world of Finnish metal (and beyond I think), this is why this version tore us all a new one. A worthy cover of the original. RIP Dio.

Well duh. It was originally by him and his band at the time. Check out 'Stars' from 'Hear n' Aid' and you'll see all the original participants :D
Sorry if I understood you wrong!

For Raskasta Joulua members from various mostly Finnish rock/metal bands form a temporary band and tour through Finland to perform "Christmas songs" or whatever feels to fit the season metal style. Floor and Tarja and Marko participated many times.

Old school rock for sure and yeah, golden rock voices. Excellent! Very cool, and especially those guitar and key solos. I just came across something today that was 6 years in the making that I'm gonna request and is just as epic as this (as in guitar heaven) so be prepared.
