Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, Scott Thompson, with Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes
1995 - Komedie
Truly one of the best television shows in history.
This, Monty Python, and Mr. Show are, as far as I'm concerned, the holy trinity of sketch comedy shows (with _Mitchel and Webb Look_ getting an honorable mention.)
Unquestionably. Anyone who questions it obviously hasn’t seen enough of it.
After all these years, I still get emotional at the last scene.
Me too, me too.
And here we are 27 years later and yesterday they announced they just started filming eight new episodes for Amazon.
No shit? That’s the best news I’ve heard all decade. Now I just need to get Amazon.
Very few things that return live up to their original magic but I have faith that the KitH crew. _Death Comes To Town_ was good (not brilliant, like _Brain Candy_ was), so here's hoping they can do it again.
@@chrisoliver3642 I really enjoyed it just watched all 8 new episodes
The ending of the AT&Love sketch stirs my emotions. This show is frozen in time and I'm so glad these five guys found each other to give us their talents 🥲
That second skit really hit me in the feels.
Chris Robinson as a rock n roll Angel makes sense lol. In the end KITH went out just as funny as when they debuted. Icons
I cried when the wigs came off.
It is a sad, beautiful moment.
I remember watching this the night it aired and being totally stunned. I had no idea the series was ending. I was completely depressed for at least 24 hours afterwards.
I was 14 when I first started watching KITH. I was heartbroken when I watched this final episode. KITH was my Monty Python.
I had to revisit this episode after seeing the first couple new ones. In the opening of the first episode, they get dug up from this grave in the exact same outfits, laying in the same order. Classic.
Am I getting emotional 27 years later? ...yes I am . Aguanten los chicos en el hall!!!
I just finished s05e21. I started watching this show last April 2023 here on YT because I wanted to check other works of Mark McKinney whom I admired in "Superstore" sitcom and also because I currently have nothing else better to do due to a life-threatening illness (which I'm currently being treated). The 5 of them literally grew on me. The last skit made me feel emotional because this show literally distracted me my illness ❤ The way they buried them on the closing sequence cracked me up😂 I am sad that this show has ended but then I remember that there's still Brain Candy, The Wrong Guy (I have a crush on David Foley), Death Comes to Town, and the Revival ❤ After I'm done with those, I can just rewatch all the episodes again ❤ I love KITH 😊
To your Post-KITH list you can also add a VERY little-known movie from 1998 called THE GODSON starring Kevin! (Plus Rodney Dangerfield and Dom Deluise!) Barely ANYONE knows about it but it's basically Kevin's "The Wrong Guy" and I think it's hilarious. Any movie with Kevin McDonald as the lead is worth checking out!
not gonna lie, i get teary-eyed watching the beginning with Bellini. one of the best shows ever made imo.
This is how to do a perfect final episode for a skit comedy show. So sad to see it go. So happy to know a season 6 is now on its way.
SNL is okay, I loved In Living Color, but KITH will always be my favorite show of all time and still my go-to show right now💜💜💜
Yes! So well put.
Exactly the way I feel!! SNL has it's moments for me, Mad TV as well, In Living Color made me laugh, SCTV had some big talent and unique sketches but none of them even comes close to being as ground breaking, unafraid and totally hilarious as the comedic talents of Dave, Kevin, Scott, Bruce, and Mark. As fresh today as it was when it first was on TV.
@@thekidsinthehallkith This show got me through some of the worst times of my life. I've always wanted to meet each of them and thank them for all the laughs.
That's how Loren Michaels found them..they were trying out for s.n.l and Loren saw these guys practicing in the hall just before their individual audition.. They never went on SNL cuz of Mr.Michaels...god bless ya dude, and god bless Dave,Scott, mark, and last but not least Kevin..
I like all Sketch Comedy shows including KitH and SNL
One of the greatest shows ever. Thank you SM for these uploads. Takes me back to my childhood…
I do so, that Earth and Jazz might coexist.
THE greatest Sketch comedy ever made. Ive seen this show countless times and notice something new every time, in almost every sketch! Thanks for making me laugh for decades, you guys!
Their effort toward sound proofing their practice space is commendable.
I really adore the kids in the hall this show was so fun to watch and I will never forget everyday at 2-3 pm me and grandma watching and laughing together miss you grandma.
Have nice week Cathy!
Such a sad but lovely ending! Not mant shows end as brilliantly as this one
The wigs coming off gets me everytime. 🥲
Bruce explained that the Armada sketches are based on the KITH themselves. Kevin would always say, “come to rehearsal having eaten” already so they wouldn’t waste any time.
So “come having taken our medicine” was them trolling Kevin.
Chris Robinson on KITH. Almost forgot about that.
Black Crowes made hard times in my 20s a little less hard.
kurt cobain was in there too, his kid picture is in the bg of that buddy sketch
I'm so happy that KITH going to do more episodes because I still miss you a lot guys
Thanks kids for coming back. We live in the worst of times and its hard to do comedy right now. Love the new episodes.
Bruce was the best old man 😂 Scott was the best woman. They were all amazing ❤
That Armada bit is sad, but cracks me up. After 30 years, still playing in the same garage, and somehow their skill at the instruments doesn't improve one bit in that time.
I finally binge watched the five seasons so I can watch and support them on their current season (2022)
Wow. Just wow. I never saw the ending of KITH (or much of anything else for that matter because of a brutal work schedule🤬) and while watching, I thought they were pulling my leg about being THE last show. And that headstone! Felt THAT in the pit of my gut! These re-runs have been such a delight; flashing back to when we were all young and beautiful. 😿 I didn't realize [until I was this many years old] how gorgeous #DaveFoley was! Goddamn! 💅
Hotter than I was on my best day!
Glad to see they're coming back! WoooYAH!
Hope they bring back the Hookers and the 2 Cops!
Love to all these super talented guys who were ahead of their time and highly, highly, underrated.
Cheers! 🍻 😘 💞
I love that these were uploaded black face and f words intact.
Always in my heart. ♥️ Love you guys.
If the Amazon revival is sketches, I hope we revisit Rod Torkleson's Armada Featuring Herman Mendelchuck. It would add the perfect layer to this series of sketches.
Thank you for making this channel, the void in my life has been lifted🤘😜👍
Love the kids in the hall
A steadfast presence in the comments. “Love the kids in the hall” forever
Amazing show.. loved to watch this as a kid.. I though the characters where so well played..
My family isn’t even family 👍😂
11:50 - Nice reference to B&B!!🔥
Elizabeth (Dave Foley's administrative assistant manager) tries to duck out of the group hug, still true to form. Brilliant run, Kids!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
When his voice goes high, Mark starts to sound like his Chicken Lady character.
So thrilled that they're back!
The kids in the hall have come to a end at 4-15-1995 on HBO final 3 years before the day of rebranding on 1997.
Because I can't process my emotions very well, instead of accepting sadness over a great show ending, I choose to be mad. Why the hell did these guys think it was a good idea to end at season 5?
They are coming back for at least a season.
@@thekidsinthehallkith I know. But the last scene still broke me. I need a shrink.
@@ecard98 You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. Be thankful the show finished strong, most don't.
Kith saw into the future so often. I mean consider: gay bars going strait, the return of the nazis, and get me some of that soup.
The guy Buddy kicks out of the bar sure looks like Jim Carrey... SHOOTERS!!!
I just realized that during the Buddy sketch, there’s a childhood photo of Kurt Cobain on the bar, who committed suicide shortly before this. This makes sense now. I read somewhere that Scott
Thompson went to call Kurt after they had met following a Nirvana concert and exchanged numbers as Kurt was a fan of the show. I unfortunately as the phone was ringing the a news report came on the TV reporting Kurt’s death. What a cool tribute to him. Reach out people, there is hope. Take care of yourselves.
Who's your favorite Kid in the Hall? Dave Foley certainly looks the best in drag. But, as far as funny: I'm on the fence between Mark McKinney & Bruce McCulloch.
Dave was always my favorite growing up. His over the top stuff was paralleled by his straight man. Most of my favorite monologues are his. He definitely does look the best in drag, this is true. Though Bruce's performances in drag were always the funniest.
These days I'm kind of just worshipping Bruce in general. Great monologues as well.
He's always been my wife's favorite.
Yeah, but did they make it?
Can we get pinata's that look like Bellini please? I have some planned drunk weekend with friends coming up!
They could 'co-inside' with the Amazon event?? :) p.s. I can provide the towel if needed?
*coincide
Wonder how high Chris was 💨
The "Armada" is still afloat eh? Gives me the guts to buy a crappy 🚢⛵ n' sail into the horizon again? But I'd have to return for medication refills, Dr visits and any test deemed needed by him? I'm going to name my imaginary, dilapidated boat. 💦 "BLIP!"💦 😢
Breakfast TV lol
Has anybody ever paid attention to the little details in the back/foreground?
And what is the obsession with the number 17, and other cabalistic numbers? If you sum up the algarisms in the fore/background, its almost always 17. Its usually either a cousin or cabalistic number.
I get here, again, to the last episode, and will often go back to the first season. There's nothing that comes close to it, I guess.
I am open to suggestions though.
I thought Bellini would have a foreign accent.
Most were funnier than snl
That there’s Hitler! Lmao 🤣
But do they make it?
Without a doubt. Without a shadow of a doubt.
How come when Dave removed his wig he still looked like a woman.
He's a beautiful man.
@@thekidsinthehallkith Damned beautiful. Dimples and all. Me and my three sisters combined couldn’t be that friggin purty. 😄
@@lisawilliams2013 Nonsense! You are one absolutely stunning Venn diagram!
@@chrisoliver3642 Ha!!!!
@@lisawilliams2013 I'm sorry for being so forward, I just really love curves!
It amazes me how the Kids in the Hall lasted only five years and that shitty unfunny SNL is still on.
SNL has had good times and bad, but never had KITHs consistency. Hard to write that well, but also its the difference of being Canadian with our cross atlantic sense of british and US humour.
Not me as while I love the Kids SNL is more popular and iconic whether you like it or not
Yes!!! Tigers win!!
