Sad news to pass along- Benny Mardones passed away, this morning at 73. He'll forever be remembered for "Into The Night" and he'll be missed- may he rest in peace!!!
Oh no. Im really sorry to see this. 😥
Benny was a awesome person, i lived in the same building he did right before he wrote this song, i hung out with him all the time and the girl this song is about, i was just 17 myself and playing drums in a 80's metal band, he was probably the most honest and truthful person I have ever known and was a real friend, he played this song the next morning after he wrote it and I told him it was gonna be a hit. R. I. P. BEN i can't wait to see you again ❤

I shed tears watching this Performance... I'd seen him perform in person in the early 80's, and agsin in the 90s.
This song will FOREVER remain a Classic.... From the moment it was released in 1980 ...His Range, the Passion with whuch he sings , is unmistakeable. He also accomplished something rarely done. :
This song was Re- recorded.... Three different times, Three different Record Labels. Three different Years. Three different Centuries.
Your Music lives on, Benny ....as you now entertain the Angels. You are missed.
