- I was goosebumpin' all the time.
This was just down my lane: Profound lyrics, fantastic arrangement, Middle Eastern vibes. I'm in love.

Love you!!
Sabina - Hudba
EPICA sets the bar for symphonic metal….no doubt
Indeed 😍
Can we defy the code of life? ... Why are we changing what's there by creation? ... Will we abandon the arms of our dear Mother Nature? . This is powerful and thought provoking. I love the hint of Middle Eastern vibes combining with the strong symphonic driver. Simones voice adds the usual dynamic to complete the package. This for me is Epica’s best work to date…only my opinion. Sabina…a beautiful and very meaningful reaction, done with your usual style and panache. Epic Epica.
Epic Epic indeed! 🤩 How awesome was this.. dang 😳
He even talks about what the supposed science is trying to do with humanity today, with genetic tests 💉💉
No other band sounds like EPICA, such a unique sound, making heavy sound so beautiful is a real talent, I love this band
Agree! And I'm now getting into MaYaN too, that's like more brutal Epica. Mark is a genius! Do you know all their songs?
@@cancelled_user
MaYaN is not really for me, EPICA is more my speed, I'm not much into brutal music, I love the heavier EPICA songs but that's about my limit
@@watchtheskies That's fine. They also have some ballads though. You can try for example MaYaN - Insano
It's beautiful. Simone is my number 1 goddess, but Laura has very nice soprano too.
Sabina, Epica lyrics are always deep! In this case it was written by Simone. She writes lyrics for almost half of Epica songs.
They can blend all sorts of things masterfully. Heavy guitar riffs, growls, choir, Simone's soprano, Middle Eastern melodies :)
I love Epica! You should react to them much more! You still have at least 100 songs to choose from and you can't really choose a bad song, hah.
My most favourite in Code of Life is probably the last chorus where Simone switches to more operatic vocals. That's pure eargasm! Not the mention the sick drumming by Arien, which comes after that :)
Btw, you mentioned warrior? React to "Internal Warfare" next :) Great song from 2012 and no one reacts to it.
There's also a EPICA - CODE OF LIFE (VIDEO) uploaded by Produccione Mist. Can you watch that one off camera? I'm sure you won't mind hearing it again 🙂
If you love midden eastern sound and you haven't reacted yet to Epica dancing in a huricane live at the zenith France then you should react to this video
"Vita" chorus. Had the same sensation when i first listened to the song. It really sent me to the moon and far away. Absolutely mind blowing and these chorus master the whole piece. Wonderfull beyond words. The chords, the progression, the orchestration (I´m a classical music student)...what can i say
As you mentioned, that you want to see Epica live, they come to Zurich and Lausanne next march. Also there is a live stream for their 20th anniversery in september.
Thank you for your great reaction. And you are right: That is my favorite song of epica. It is so grand and the lyrics are very profound. I think you liked the song, i guess 😁😁
The arabic in the lyric video means: "Code of life, science of alteration, code of life, science of death"
Like you Henning, I think this is Epica’s best work to date.
Haha, you bet I did. I get why this is your face, it knocked my socks off! 🤩🤘😳
@@sabina1118 I don't fully agree with Chris because it's almost impossible to say what's Epica's best work. Of course we can have our personal favorites but each of their 8 studio albums is a masterpiece. Ask fans if they can think of any weak Epica album... Yes, some people don't like early albums because they were not heavy enough for them. Others don't like later albums because they're too heavy for them.
Either way, I don't know any other band where I can listen to every single song on every single album and don't feel the need to skip anything. It's almost unbelievable how amazing this band is. It's the brilliance of their musical compositions, the use of choir which has quite prominent place in their music, the amazing orchestral arrangements and Simone's wonderful divine soprano, with her looks as a nice topping on the cake. It's all such a perfect blend.
Most reactors only do a few songs and that's it. They don't know what they are missing out, which is shame. There are a couple small channels who decided to dive more into Epica discography and now they can't stop reacting to them. 😄
@@Ministry_0f_Truth Epica is underrated and they are the best band in their genre in my opinion!
@@Ministry_0f_Truth This is the beauty of music…it’s very subjective and will invariably divide and conquer when it comes to opinion. Political debate tends to bring out the worst in some people. Music on the other hand promotes some excellent healthy debates, without resorting to slanderous comments. At the end of the day, we embrace music for its emotion.
Simone wrote the lyrics for this song. The music was written by Coen Janssen, the keyboard player.
They Just released this song live as a compilation of some of their concerts recently in Mexico. It’s absolutely lit!
Great reaction Sabina I also love the Middle East music vibes gives the song such an spiritual and majestic atmosphere. Epica is an amazing band my favorite one I saw them live this year in Mexico City it was an amazing night. 😉🤘🏻
I discovered Epica a few years ago and have since enjoyed their music so much. Epica is also a part of my spiritual experience too and that is pretty cool. Anyhow, yes this song is awesome and yes when I first heard this song I had goosebumps too.
I would like to suggest a song called "Rise Again" by Apocalyptica and the vocals are performed by Epica's Simone Simons. You will not regret it. It is a powerful song.
Give it a try to other themes from this album, Omega. There's a lot to enjoy.
Also try listening from this band Dance of Fate, The Second Stone and The Holographic Principle. Epic songs :)
i love Epica
Thanks for adding comment in text and not pausing every 5 seconds, I wish other reactionaries followed your example. Great job, keep it up!
I saw them perform this 6 weeks ago opening for Sabaton and I was completely blown away.
Once again a great reaction! I also love those middle eastern vibe. On the 3rd of September they will have their 20th anniversary concert in 013, Tilburg ( I will be there) but did you know they will also stream the concert live? Just saying 😉. Keep up the good work Sabina!
Thank you and thanks for the info! I need to check that 😍🤩
The price is also pretty cheap, I'll be seeing them live in my country but I also got the ticket for the livestream, can't say 'no' to an extra large Epica celebration show
Sabina, now that you have listened to the full symphonic metal version, please take a look... err, a ear to their 'acoustic' version, El Código Vital, and make a trip from the Middle East to Latin America 😉
Love your videos from Texas ❣️
Have always loved Epica. That one was amazing. Thank you Sabina❤
roar! love the lion hair! 🦁
I'm with ya got goose bumps her and floor are not of this world I think there angels from heaven to give us uplifting and inspiring songs love the middle eastern vibe too
The middle east vocals is Zaher Zorgheti from tunisian progressive metal band Myrath. You must react their song
Greetings from Switzerland ... I love Epica and just had the chance to see them live at Wacken ("close" to Danmark) ... It was an awesome festival.
Hi! Sounds awesome!!😍
Hi Sabina have you seen any of the EPICA studio vlogs on youtube?, you get to see them recording this album, they are all such very nice people, the videos are a lot of fun, this is the first video,
EPICA - Studio vlog album #8 (Part 1) (Official Studio Vlog)

I have seen Epica 3 times. They are so amazing live and interact with audience nicely. They are a must see so yes see them. In many ways, as big as Nightwish without quite the notoriety but top band
Please do reaction to Kingdom of Heaven (live video) from Mexico by Epica. For me this song is their masterpiece!
Vsetky ich skladby su masterpiece 😉
love Ya - as always :-)
I love EPICA !
The instrumental part at the beginning sounds a lot like "Home" by Dream Theater.
That's good or bad? :) I noticed people often hear something from old bands in new songs. Or at least they think they do.
@@cancelled_user I didn't mean anything good or bad, just making an observation. That being said, I do like the other song it reminded me of.
Uh!! need to check that out!!
@@cancelled_user That song is part of Dream Theater most acclaimed album, so it's very good 😁
And yeah I also feel some similarities
Epica does have some progressive elements as well.
First may I say congratulations on your move to probably one of the most beautiful countries on the planet, enjoy your utopia, second great song choice as well. I have never heard of metal infused with middle eastern music. Again music is the universal language of the world!🎼🦇
Another Dutch rollercoaster song Hopefully this band keeps surprising us. Another amazing Dutch 'unknown' singer is Eefje de Visser. She sings in Dutch beautiful textes. It's more alternative poprock music with a dark vibe. The stunning song 'De Parade' czcams.com/video/XLLjtZNp8vg/video.html Put up the volume bit higher.
Would love to see you react to The Tea Party - The Grand Bazaar, Michael Schenker Group - Desert Song, or Sting - Desert Rose.
React also to "tides of time" They also did some acoustic versions of a few of their songs. React to that also.
I love Epica! If you enjoy middle east music you should listen to Loreena Mckennitt’s "An Ancient Muse" my favorite track is "The Gates of Istanbul" I think you might like it.
Epica no Wacke foi simplesmente épico!
If I had to choose a new place to live not where I currently live, I would definitely pick Switzerland.
I still hope that one day you will react to "The Crow, The Owl and the Dove" from Nightwish. One of their most underrated songs that comes along with such an emotional animated video. You will love this!
Epica asks and deals with the big questions as virtually no one else does. Nightwish at the direction of Tuomas Holopainen is in the same league. It is no coincidence that both outfits are fronted by divine Dutch goddesses. This is perhaps my favorite Epica song. Anyone who's here just for the headbang completely misses the point.
Addendum: One of the things I particularly like about your reactions is that you don't interrupt the music, but you do put your comments in text - that and your expressions tell us all we need to know. Great respect for this.
No, stop mentioning Tuomas here. This isn't about them! Stop grandstanding him!
@@myracrystalhalilion9790 Are you serious? There is absolutely no harm in mentioning the only other genius composer in their league - not to say that one is somehow better than the other, but to show them as an example of off-the-charts creativity and performance to which no one else really compares.
You do know that Simone and Floor are great friends, don't you? And that they perform together from time to time?
If you like the Middle Eastern sound from epica then try / Fools Of Damnation
Merci 🌼
Énorme.
❤️
If you like Middle Eastern may I recommend one of my favorite bands Orphaned Land. Is hard to pick one song but All is One or Like Orpheus videos are a good start
