    Great episode from The Adam and Dr. Drew Show calling out left wing politicians and news sources such as the Huffington Post and The Young Turks.
    This just goes to show how stupid the Liberal American News agencies are and why BBC and Al Jazeera are the only world news sources you can actually trust these days.

    "the school system isn't interested in teaching so much as it is in reprimanding children".
    What she actually meant to say was "disciplining black and hispanic children for bad behavior is wrong because we're not respecting their "cultural heritage" in not allowing them to act like hooligans and idiots in class".
    25 years ago children who weren't considered to be up to passing standards were held back a grade because they weren't up to passing standards.
    Today those kids are allowed to pass because "it would harm their self esteem to be told they've failed" and teachers are forced to go at the speed of the remedial kids who sit in the back of the class fucking around and not bothering to try to learn, which screws over all of the other students who are actually trying to learn but can't because the stupid good for nothings who would have been rightly given up on 20 years ago are given extra time and attention they don't deserve or need.
    And before anyone asks I'm not talking about disabled students,they deserve all the extra time and attention that is given too them, I'm talking about the sort of good for nothings who disrupt class constantly cause trouble and show nothing but disdain towards anyone who actually wants to better themselves.
    Those are the kids who teachers should just give up on and flatly say "you're not worth my time so keep your mouth shut or I'll send you to the office and you'll get to see the vice principal".

    I don't understand how pushing family values and education has become something of a bad idea. I do think a solution to kids being in a prison path has to do with low education and no discipline. If you don't understand consequence at a young age, you're more likely to commit crime at an older age or just make all-around bad choices. If you don't take the time to educate yourself, you fall behind, you feel left out. We all know what feeling left out or stupid can lead to. I mean I feel like it's common sense.

Instead people think working hard is the only game and they end up miserable and depressed and then their children get the shitty version of the tired parents and get bored and go to drugs and blah blah....family and education works and the cultures that disagree are exactly the problem.

These things are available to Every American, regardless of Race, Gender, or Social Status, at no cost. They are: Graduate High School, Get and keep any job for one year, and Don't have children until you are married. If you do these three things you can succeed.

    Adam is 110% right. With a two parent family you have structure. Dad gives the kids a kick in the pants & mom gives them a shoulder. Both bring equally important roles. School {should} gives them the education they need to go out & make something for themselves. Two parents & a strong education prepares them to leave the nest. If one is missing, it makes it harder.
    They don't get a proper schooling & the government incentifies a fatherless home by giving more to single moms. It makes sense in theory, but fails because they end up staying on it. Same thing with more kids. What needs to be done is put boundaries & conditions in place to incentify bettering themselves to get off it.
    But they have to want it. Right now they are nothing more than pets to the left for votes. They are human beings capable of rational thought if they had the means too. It isn't about race, it's about upbringing & education & it applies to all people, regardless of skin color. Welfare should be nothing more than a safety net, not a lifestyle.
    But they also need jobs. Our industry is now mostly overseas. Now we have more skilled orientated labor & college stuff. Minimum wage jobs aren't going to pay more than $10hr, industry would. That is a stepping stone out. Lobbyists, increased taxes, regulations, high energy costs, & the raising of the minimum wage all inflate the cost of living. Keeping the poor poor.
    If the cost of living is reduced, then the burden of living is easier. Not spending frivolously & living within their means also helps them save. Now they have a solid foundation in which to build on & climb out of poverty into the middle class. If they apply themselves like they did when they were poor, then the sky is the limit.

    Assertions made without evidence can be refuted without evidence. There MAY be some other way to raise children consistently so that they turn out well, but if there is, WE haven't discovered it yet. Nothing bolsters a child's well being as much as having 1) a stable home, 2) care and attention given to them from a steady source (IE, parents, 2 moms, 2 dads, a mom and a dad, but mostly 2 parents), 3) an interest in the child's development from that same source, 4) discipline (not necessarily corporal punishment), 5) instilling values (such as respect for experience, respect of authority), 6) encouraging curiosity and a drive to learn. I'm sure there are more, and if you're lacking one or two, you might be fine, but these are very concrete things that are easily understood and difficult to dismiss. I'm more liberal, but I love the truth more.

    If Corolla wants to state the position that every person should have to earn their way and is willing to be fair about it I'm with him. I think he would be better served trying to make suggestions as to how to fix the victimhood narrative on the left as opposed to tearing them a new one. I just hope the man isn't so naive to think that a person who may have come from a poor background and got wealthy or Rich from nefarious means should be heralded as great simply because now they're rich. Also don't think that because a person is hard-working that it is impossible for them to be unscrupulous.

    The problem with Adam's Zeppelin/Who, Manning/Brady analogies is that matters of politics actually are rather complicated. I agree that we let politicians get away with BS-ing us far too much, but a problem like say homelessness in Los Angeles is a complicated matter, for example, isn't it? That is, if you care about it and would rather not just give them a bus pass like other cities do. If you care about it, as Adam sort of states in his argument, you have a thoughtful solution to the matter. Well complicated matters tend to be short of thoughtful solutions.
    Maybe, really instead of "it's more complicated than that," we should just reinterpret the person saying it as simply admitting, "I don't have the answer." It makes more sense to me that the person who claims the matter to be more complicated, that they don't want to admit that they don't have the answer. Franky, who does?

    • @tyronebiggums1047
      @tyronebiggums1047 Před 4 lety

      Yes, it is a complicated matter, however the solution to 80% of homelessness IS simple (Adams solution of families staying in tact and focusing on education), the other 20% may be more complicated, but Adams point is that liberals don't want to admit that 80% of the problem would go away in a generation or two with Adams solution.
      Just like eating less and exercising more will solve 90% of the obesity problem. The other 10% of people who have thyroid issues, under performing metabolism, or some eating disorder, etc it becomes "more complicated". But liberals try to act like 100% of the problems they discuss are "more complicated" and that is a bull shit lie they tell for political motivations.

    I'm 100% okay with liberals existing I just don't agree with them and I am astonished at how optimistic a lot of them are. For example: I do not see how making guns illegal to own would prevent someone from killing another person in the United States. Murder is already illegal and yet people still kill each other with guns, knives, cars, tools, and even their bare hands. The places in the USA with the most strict gun control laws are often the places with the highest violent crime rates. I admit fully that capitalism is not perfect and that there is certainly room for improvement however communism's goal is the equality of everyone. Yet nobody seems to realize there is still a lower class in communism. There are the wealthy people in government and then there's everyone else. I wouldn't blame the person with all of the power to also desire all of the wealth. That's simply human nature. But as a pessimist I can not trust another person to chose my own prosperity over theirs. History is full of corrupt leaders and plebeians being crushed by boots scrambling in a Game of Thrones. I'd at least like a chance to succeed in my own rite. I don't want a Lamborghini I just want something that I can truly call mine.

  • @bigstudwithaguitar
    @bigstudwithaguitar Před 8 lety

    Adam and Dr Drew just don't get it... but it's not their fault. They are a bit old and have a different view of the media.
    Adam said something like, "The body positivity movement isn't REALLY going to change the landscape of the fashion industry... blah blah blah."
    What they don't seem to get is... THE BODY POSITIVITY MOVEMENT IS THE FASHION INDUSTRY!
    These big stories... where do you think the money is?
    The body positivity movement is what is known as sponsored content. It's an advertisement pretending to be a social movement.
    It's a way of plus size manufacturers to reach people virally, prop up models, and then employ those models showcasing their plus size items.
    Every model you see in these news stories... guess what... more times than not, their names are associated with a single clothing line, and their name, once they become famous, will lead you straight to those manufacturers if you want to see the models' work.
    Recently, there was a mom that took pictures by the beach while pregnant. Well... she posted a viral statement about body positivity for pregnant women and got her name out in the news... but then you look at her instagram. She's got dozens of professional quality pictures with her wearing a single company's pregnancy clothes... and they were posted weeks earlier... complete with website details, sometimes price... etc.
    SHE WAS WORKING FOR THEM ALL ALONG!
    The whole movement is nothing but an ad campaign that pays the dying news media handsomely, and literally every niche designer uses it (or goes belly up because they are idiots).

Faith is not intrinsically anti-intellectual, if you have to sacrifice your intellect in order to believe you're not dealing with authentic faith. I would argue that society's gold standard for beauty (often dictated by other women and gay men in fashion) forces a suppression of the "natural" predilection for a more feminine woman. Simple biology also draws men to larger, curvier women, as these women appear, from a gene pool standpoint, physically superior in terms of mothering abilities.

    I like listening to Adam even though I'm a liberal. But, I'm sorry to say I can no longer handle how right-wing Adam and Dr.Drew are together on the same show. Dr.Drew, was born very wealthy, and is much more of a businessman than a MD. Dr.Drew constantly veers the conversation toward his pent-up right wing political views. When he criticizes the "government takeover of healthcare", its as a man who owns many different overpriced clinics (no doubt aided his big finical head start in life), not as a doctor that gives a sh1t about providing healthcare to the masses. Unlike Adam, he has very little experience with poor people; so it inherently bothers me when he starts chipping in about poor people "doing their fair share." The world would not be fine without construction workers or janitors. But it would be if people like Dr.Drew or Adam disappeared. This doesn't have any impact on Adam's views, because he labors under the false impression that anyone could be just as rich as him if they worked hard. Drew knows better. He just would like the surf class to be happy with their lot anyway.
