      @@JeriBelliniMy daughter did NOT want to learn. So I didn’t teach her.
      I’m hoping that someday, after she’s finished her PhD, she will take up stitching as a hobby. But I didn’t want to make a negative memory by forcing her. Here’s hoping!!!

    When I was teaching my grandchildren how to applique circles onto fabric I cut a circle out of a heavy weight piece of non iron vilene and a slightly bigger piece of applique material . I then gathered the material around the edge and placed the vilene circle inside carefully teasing the gathers until the circle lay flat and then appliqued it on to the background fabric. It made it easier for them. I love teaching them crafts.

    Hello Jeri, I want to tell you how very much I'm enjoying your dot videos on CZcams.I've been in a slump for awhile,not doing any crafts. I stumbled on to you one day & became interested in your dot a day. I feel revived & energized to give them a try. I only have a smart phone,so I am unable to enlarge videos so much.I am unable to see when you apply the 3"square onto the 3 1/2 " square.Do you sew it on before you put the dot on,or do you sew the 3"sq on after the dot & the embroidery work is completed? Thank you so much,& let's dot our lives with joy every day•°•°•°

    • @JeriBellini
      @JeriBellini  Před 2 měsíci

      I'm not exactly sure what you mean... But I'll try to answer. The 3 inch square is the cardboard template. I use that to fold the edges of the 3 1/2 inch piece of cloth. So the edges are finished and basted in place, making a finished 3 inch square. Then I applique the dot onto that. Hope that makes sense. 💜 Then I embroider.

    • @shirleysmith8079
      @shirleysmith8079 Před 2 měsíci

      @@JeriBellini Oh, I misunderstood in the beginning. You only cut one piece of cloth 3 1/2 ",& turn under 1/4" each side. There isn't a second piece of cloth attached to that square! Am I understanding it right now? I'm sorry for misunderstanding. I'm so happy I have found your channel.Thank you🥀

    I order through Etsy. Fil a Gant from France, 100% cotton. I believe it’s a 50 weight as opposed to a 30 weight that you find in fabric shops.
    Recently, I also found a new thread to me (I live in USA), called Boundless Pima thread. It’s also a 50 weight and it was quite inexpensive for me. It’s 100% cotton. 1200 yds on the spool and quite inexpensive.
