I have wanted a puppy for over 20 years. I ask for it every birthday & every Christmas. If I ever got one, I would cry & be way more excited then this guy was.
Some people won’t, me personally, will NEVER act super exited over a gift. And that’s not just because I don’t want to be but it’s because I don’t want people to feel like their gift was worse. Personally, I see gift giving as a competition of sorts. You have a group of people attempting to match an item (usually as cheap as they can go while still being what they want/like) better then other people. So using this thought process I never act exited in front of people about a specific gift.
Love this sweet wedding gift. It reminded me of my first date with my husband. I asked him about 3 things he really would like to have. He said he wanted a Yellow Lab because they are sweet & loyal, to visit Ireland the homeland of both sets of great grandparents & finally he wanted to learn to sail. I was so touched and amazed that the things he wanted were not just material possessions they were experiences, skills and a companion to love. When we bought our first home I gave him his Yellow Lab. I planned our trip to Ireland & our son went with us. It was magical. Our son will be planning the sailing lesson. After 34 years of marriage my sweet husband's heart hasn't changed. He still cares more about loving, learning & experiences than he does material possessions. So glad I asked that question 36 years ago. He is still THE best man ever. Ask your future partner these questions and you just might discover a phenomenal human being on your first date. Peace & happiness to you all as you seek happiness not just material possessions.
This is so cool of her to do. The wedding day is usually mostly about the bride due to the nature of the dress and the throwing of the bouquet, so this gives him his own moment as well.

It seems clear that this is something he at the very least had wanted and she knew he wanted. Maybe she had said no prior for other reasons but now that they were married they had the chance to get one.
