Interesting to know that if you’re short sighted with a fairly mild prescription there’s a chance it might improve with age, I didn’t know that was even a thing.
Sadly I think this happens because your eyesight will begin to lose the ability to see things closely.
My distance eyesight is noticeably better at 30 than when I was a kid. But I also can't focus on things extremely close like I used to.
Yeah unfortunately doctors like to tell us that we are going to be sick for life
@@bretonkyle when i was a kid i couldnt see anything close- especially reading but as time passed and now im 19 i have problem seeing any billboards or any texts from a distance of 3meters etc
World seems blurry but the second ivput on glasses everything seems so sharp in contour 😭✋️
But bc i wer my glasses rarely when i do put them on i end up getting a headache sometimes
@@bretonkyle I'm similar, distance I can see for miles, but if I need to focus hard on seeing thing, eg playing snooker, I need glasses
Kudos to the nurses at the eye clinic who have immense patience and kindness and relatability when teaching first time contact lens wearers, my nurse was awesome for the appointment😂

This is a genuine reminder to me to get my eyes checked again! I needed glasses in the 6th grade but fortunately grew out of them a couple of years later! I remember how relaxing the whole experience was.. I just didn't know to call it real life ASMR at the time 😂

It’s obvious that this optometrist doesn’t care for CZcams nor ASMR-jiggery but focuses on the profession at hand. This pragmatic stop-wasting-my-time cynicism is ASMR in its own right and it's amazing
If she’s being paid for the test then there’s no time wasting except probably the optician company aren’t going to sell any glasses or contact lenses.Dont think there’s any cynicism just professionalism .It’s also good most tests since Richard Hollingworth picked up the freckle.

That pressure machine is my worst nightmare! My eyes are always streaming tears afterwards and I flinch so violently with every puff 😂
i’m absolutely terrified of that i avoid going just cause of that one thing😭
You do have a right to reject it. I always tell them I refuse it when I go and they don't say anything about it
I have my first eye exam tomorrow since I was a kid and I'm rly anxious as I've no idea what to expect. This has chilled me out so much 😭💖 I feel less scared about it now ❤

Lighter eyes allow more light into the eye evolution for people who live in places where there isn't much light/ gloomy a lot (much like London) brown eyes/ darker eyes allow less light, evolution for places that have a lot more sunlight. Because travel is more common over the last several thousand years that has changed etc etc

Very relaxing conversation, something about the lofi reverb of the sound is very ASMRy. Do the various opticians not ask why you have an eye test every 6 weeks or so? 😂

at the eye doctors where i go to, that first machine. the tech basically just tells you to push your face into it as hard as you can XD its like, great now that i see this im just like "why tho?" LOL. also for pressure testing is sooooo difficult for me to keep my eyes open. my brain is like "no close them now" its basically impossible to fight against, especially when they add the numbing drops for this.
The puff of air into the eyes always makes me jump lol

Im an ophthalmic technician in the US and perform all of these exams. The sessions can be very chill almost asmr level....but thats rare for us😅

When the puff of air hits my eye, I jerk back so bad. The last puff is dull so not as bad, but that first one, my head comes off the machine!

In the us they prove the air pressure machine isn't healthy and safe for eyes
I got ptsd from it because the nurse kept doing it and blaming me for it when it was her but i left and went to a more nicer and safer place who use less pressure

Do a real eye exam at a place without all the machinery, still with all the lenses etc by hand!!
Melissa has - look for the one with a guy called Christian in Leicester.He does use modern machines but not the one with the lenses.All his are the real old school stuff.

Luckily Eye tests in the UK are really cheap, or even free if your work involves looking at screens all day.
How much do they change when the cam is not around? She seems like the type who made it and sits in an office everyday. The jacket seems a bit out of place, something you would wear in a lobby setting.
