Not sure the world really needed another Star Wars card game, but I’m glad you enjoyed it. The card stock is a surprise, I’ve never had any issue with any FFG game in terms of component quality.
I thought this was a fan game the first time I saw it with the art and presentation being what it is, but I’m glad to hear that it’s good. I’m glad that fantasy flight pulled back, I bought Fallout could see right away they weren’t doing due diligence as a publisher.
My copy is arriving tomorrow! I am so excited. So to tell you it was not you that influenced me to buy it. But your second. :) I am going to buy some sleeves thanks to you. Your awesome Sir. I am so glad you and your copy got to go to Hawaii. Looks like you had a wonderful time. Is your girlfriend upset that you took the game instead of her?
OK, OK, your comand is my wish. I bought the dang thang. Well ... I left it in an Amazon cart. Next best thing. It's as good as mine. There, ya happy??? :D (Thx for the review, it sounds great, and for the warning re: card quality ... cost-cutting on a massive print run, I suspect ... oh well, I love games I can "upgrade" ... always love a new project ... wheeeee)
I was on the fence about this game, glad to hear good things about it. Surprised to hear the component quality is not very good as I’ve come to expect better from FFG. Hopefully we’ll one day get a Star Wars card game like Arkham Horror or Marvel Champions 🤞🏻
In some ways yes, but in other ways quite different. You can't attack your opponents cards in the Galaxy row in SR/HR like in Star Wars. You can't select new cards (bases) that alter the game at different points like you can in Star Wars. On top of that, there is just an overall different feel from the IP. Some comparisons are valid, but only so far.
Did you hear that in the original script Obi Wan simply went to the Deathstar to give Darth Vader his birthday gifts and Darth knew this ? ... .. ... Because he felt his presents.
I heard there are limited choices in the game. That you pretty much just buy the most expensive card you can afford each turn and put damage on their base or a market card. They also say it doesn't have the same synergies and combo potential of star realms. What do you think?
Who is they? I think, despite some similarities, it is not a Star Realms Clone, which is what some people wanted. The more I’ve played it the more I’ve come to appreciate the way the cards work together here. As for always buying the most expensive card, that’s pretty much the way I’ve always played Star Realms - and DC, and Legendary, etc…. I really enjoy this one quite a bit.
I’ve played this game with my gaming buddy and the choices may seem limited but it’s a good deal of choice. Depending on the card, buying the most expensive card might not be the best option. Plenty of lower priced cards are very useful or could be very useful depending on what has happened in the game. And combos and synergy definitively exists. I learned early on that you can chain cards together and that activation order can ruin or enhance your plan. And heaven help you if you ignore the force tracker.
Cody, I've been meaning to suggest this for a long time now... but start a Patreon, dude! You've done these great videos for so many years, I'd love to support you financially. $1-2 from 1000 ppl who love you adds up
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Man that's how I know you're genuine, my friend. Someone offers you a way to make some money and you say you'll think about it! Respect!
At first i thought so too but no need to just track the force. You can use two sleeves to sleeve both sides and still fold it. It is a good 2p portable game too if you get a different box.
I laminated my force track. It's WAY too flimsy. It's very disappointing that Fantasy Flight thought it was of an acceptable standard. It's basically junk that will tear in half after awhile.
Word is whenever Cody is seeking out paint, he always turns to the Dark Side. I know that joke was Forced. 🥷 By the way, when sleeved with the sleeves it can be combined with Star Realms.
@The Discriminating Gamer standard sized sleeves that work with Magic: The Gathering should work for them. By going with dark-backed sleaves, an opponent cannot tell the cards apart. One can then add the Star Realms Explorers next to the Outer Rim Pilots. The choice can be either a card that gives +2 damage when scraped or Force when Exiled. There is minor translation work needed though between terms. However, check the base sets of both and see if they are comparable.
If I was the publisher of Star Realms : I would put "The Discriminating Gamers #1 Toilet Game " on every side of the box 😂😂😂
Ha! Right?
I agree this little game is a DIAMOND and we will hear about it more in the future I think!
I'm certain. It' a fantastic game!
Cool video thanks. Just got the game. Glad it doesn't suck.
It's a great game. You'll love it. Happy to help.

We haven't really seen a Star Wars Deck Building, so I was intrigued with the notion, and it did not disappoint - except for the card stock, that is.
They’re not the worst just as bad as they can possibly be and still be usable. I would strongly suggest sleeves

I was not a fan of Fallout The Board Game either. But this one is a lot of fun
I didn't see the punchline coming. My Jawa hit the floor.
Utinni!
I think the biggest crime is not having palps or yoda, but I cannot WAIT for an expansion!
Indeed. Gotta include something in the expansion!

They used to have the Star Wars LCG, but it’s been out of print for a while now.
FFG have released multiplayer rules on their website! 🎉
But you need 2 copies of the game.
Ha! Thanks!
I had Wookie steak last night...
It was good overall, but it was a little Chewie.
Ouch!
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Also, having finished watching, great video! Seems like a cool game!

Very similar to star realms / hero realms.

wow! Cody deaged about 10 years.. somehow. :D
It’s a magic trick.
Bro, I have easily played 1000 games of Star Realms on the toilet.
Do you have the other half of his amulet?
How does it compare with Shards of Infinity? That's my go to DBG.
I haven't played Shards, so I couldn't say.

I’ve thought about it, and I keep telling myself maybe. Got so much on my plate now that I’d be overwhelmed. Maybe somewhere down the road.

I like this game, but that force track is too flimsy. It should have been a small board.

Look like their card-dice game but cheaper

@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Yep. I do enjoy the game too, though.
I really need to stop viewing your videos... or buying more shelves.
Ha! Shelve space - the bane of gamer/collector!
Fantasy flight making dumb ass games that's never going to take off. Sold the only good game they had which was miniatures.
