I loved your video Buck! I am Chilean girl living in LA, and I always look for Chilean wines, avocados and salmon and grapes in my local grocery store (Trader Joe or Vons). You brought back lot of wonderful memories! Thank you Buck!

Very cool to see the grocery items they sell and how different the packaging is in comparison. Glad you got to enjoy a little chillean beverage at home and out and about!!

the larger plastic bags of mayonnaise and yogurt seemed like mini versions of the kinda thing you'd get with a restaurant delivery order...and they sell tons of instant coffee, too...in many of the restaurants we visited, instant coffee was what they served

A good tip, do not order wine in restaurants because they charge a lot for the bottle or a couple of glasses. On the other hand, in a supermarket you can buy the wine you want and know how much you are willing to pay. I am Chilean and it will be cheaper for you to buy a bottle of wine in the supermarket and then enjoy it at your Hotel, watching the sunset

As far as I know America is the only country that washes their eggs before sending them off to the market and that washing does wash away an outer layer of the egg that protects it from bacteria and therefore other countries do not have to refrigerate their eggs because they leave that protective layer right on the eggs. I don't know maybe y'all knew that maybe, you didn't. Just thought I'd share it.

I liked the box beans (in retrospect)

just a quick skillet salmon dinner with spicy beans, a side salad, and a glass of wine, which is a dinner we have quite often 'cause you can whip it up start to finish in about 15 minutes

The eggs must not be pasteurized they are straight from the chickens a** 😂 my grandma always had the eggs on the counter you never want to refrigerate a fresh egg it takes away the extra flavor a fresh egg provides...

my mama grew up with chickens and fresh eggs, and back yard coops are getting pretty trendy. we used to live in a residential neighborhood in Seattle called Wallingford where there were quite a few homes with yard chickens...it was weird to see chickens and then look up and see the space needle in the distance

@@SlowpokeTravel oh wow that's interesting, ya chicken coops are all the rave these days but back as a child it was a way of living off the land my family had their own livestock for just our family and hunting was not just for fun it was so my grandmother can stock up the freezers.... Grocery stores were only for the fancy pants food my grandparents couldn't provide on their own and fast food was unheard of, I'm from Colorado and being outside was all I knew before it became a "trend" 🤣

    • @SlowpokeTravel

I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up house sitting a place with chickens one day...quite a few of the house sits we look at are folks looking for someone to take care of their chickens while they are away...often the sit just requires gathering the eggs and shutting the chickens in at night
