This man is doing a fantastic job. I’m not mad at the 1st one at all. In the process of convincing my wife to move to Mexico.
If a place says its furnished make sure all of the essentials are included, and I mean all the essentials. Plates, Pots and Pans, Microwave, Blender, Coffee Maker, Silverware and Knives, Cooking utensils, Toaster, Tupperware ets. If you're renting for 6 months or less you shouldn't have to buy any of those items, and since the landlords in Merida usually don't return deposits you should make sure all of the necessities are included. My advice is if you pay double deposit just don't pay the last two months rent and settle up with them at the end if there are any extra expenses that you might owe.
Is that possible though? They could kick you out for not paying for 2 months right?
@@KpTheG Legally they can't file an eviction notice until 90 days. I'm not saying they will follow the law however. They break the law by stealing deposits and nothing gets done about it. You have to decide if its worth losing your deposit or not.. I've had a 100% loss rate when I paid deposits. I rented 4 apartments in Merida since 2019. 2 of my landlords stole the entire deposit and 2 of them didn't ask for a deposit to begin with.
@@nateswiss4708 thanks for the advice. I stayed in an Airbnb my first time living there. Luckily they didn’t ask for a deposit last year. This year the Airbnb prices skyrocketed so I’m looking for something more stable and affordable.
It's up to the owner if they want to include pot,pans,cooking utensils etc .This is a rental not a Airbnb .So when they advertise as furnished many times they are referring to large items such as a bed washer/dryer etc.On the other hand such places like a Airbnb will most likely have those other smaller items such as pot.pans utensils, Toaster etc.
@@gm-qn8ri Actually its up to the tenant to get the owner to agree on supplying all the necessities before any money is handed over. If the owner doesn't agree then definitely don't rent from them. If people start accepting less, then owners will start providing the bare minimum. Don't be taken for a fool.

Moving down from Dallas Texas area. Love the apartment, location and price. You would spend $2,000 USD and up per month, for Furnished apartment like this in DFW area....LOVE ALL your videos and taking notes.

@Belltown Daisy entiendo. Our budget was for $800 or less & Conkal is really nice. I think we are mostly paying for the owner we have bc she always comes through with no complaints. None of the horror stories that a lot of expats deal with on their first rental home.

I start looking 1 week prior to your arrival so i can schedule appointments around when u arrive. Book way in advance to lock in the week you want me to search. I only do two of these per month. Availability is limited so lock in your dates early

I am really concerned about hygiene so with that said, can you turn on water in bathroom and flush the toilet during your tours because I noticed that you moved very quickly when you showed the bathroom. I am really considering a visit and possibly renting an apartment or house in Mexico. Thank you.
