Can’t convince me that it didn’t happen!
There's a cute interaction in this deck. Feline Sovereign gives all cats you control protection from dogs. So during a combat step when you have to make some tricky blocks to survive, you can always cast Shields of Vels Veil on your opponent's creatures which gives them all creature types including dogs.
Its a one sided fog where your creatures survive, their creatures die, for 1 white mana. I think that's pretty efficient.

Because of your deck techs I have been able to enjoy a wide variety of commanders and even been able to share that joy with others. One of those individuals being my 9yr old nephew. @@CasualMagic It's understood. I was echoing what is one of the more common complaints of the format: every color has card draw...except white. The moment Mitch said what I quoted, I already knew none of the cards mentioned would be white, and that sucks. In any other color, there are budget options for card draw and card selection, but in white there just isn't. Sure when you're running multiple colors you can use those to handle it, but what about mono white decks? It's actually really difficult - though not impossible - to do, especially when on a budget.
If it wasn't for the Companion some stuff could get in to help too..

Awww I was hoping it would be doggo tribal :( especially now that they finally have a commander to support them. Or a mix of both.
Oh sweet, Rin and Seri are super fun. I built them when they first came out; with cards like doubling season and annointed procession it can be explosive. My deck ended up being about $800? The only problem (I suppose inherent with all tribal token decks) is removal. Stop killing my dogs and cats. :(

I play Rin and Seri in Brawl right now and I love how versatile it can be. Had some of the most fun and intense games from this commander.
Made this deck with some slight modifications but not much. It swung in for 70 damage in one turn. So awesome great work man. Rin and Seri do not struggle when it comes to finishing.
I love what you guys do here at the commanders quarters, i actually built a chromium deck because of the chromium deck tech but it was a good starting point, and it still costed me under 100 not only that but it still wins quite frequently!
My brother pulled Rin and Seri! He was looking for a cheap way to build it...totally showing him this!

Personally built my cat tribal deck with Nethroi, cause the reanimation really helps out this kind of creature-centric deck (and Nethroi is the cutest nightmare), but Rin and Seri did tempt me as an alternative.

Can’t say I’m all that excited for this commander, but they work WONDERS in my First Sliver Changeling deck! Nothing like cascading into 3 or 4 changelings on the board and getting another 8 1/1’s that can then be used to activate the ability!
Another reasonable upgrade to look at could be Pride Sovereign. Great deck Mitch!
If I had this cat deck it'd be called "cats out the bag" or something along those lines
I got my hands on on one collector pack of Core 21. Got Borderless Rin and Seri and a foil Fiery Emancipation. All of them were gone in a day.

Think I'd have to fight the urge to slip a Felidar Sovereign and Door of Destinies in this deck; the life points for the win seem like they'd really take care of themselves, while FS is a Cat creature, and even if the Door doesn't use tokens as a trigger, there definitely are enough Cat creature cards in this deck to crank up the Door, and thus anthem all the Cats to be even bigger; even the tokens. DoD is pretty expensive, but I think I still have a few from back when I bought them, and they weren't as pricey. A very fun, cute deck tech Mitch; thanks very much!!!

Little side note to 5:01. When you cast cubwarden for it's mutate cost, you don't get the etb of rin and seri. But you still get the two kitties.
Rin and Seri arent an ETB trigger, they are a cast trigger, so when you cast cubwarden for it's mutate you will still trigger R&S

I'd put soul of the harvest in it, it might not be a cat but it is an elemental so you can keep your companion and it draws you cards

With this commander though every Cat is a doggo so it works out in the end I think.

Adding a Bolthound can work here too, at 18 cents its also an elemental so the companion will be happy.
Another possible upgrade might be Pride Sovereign. It did a lot of work for me during Amonkhet standard.

I love my cat deck, though I built it before this new Cat Dog card came out. The friend I normally play with says it probably my most powerful deck, Im not exactly a pro but the deck does make me happy. Though my deck is a white/green deck with Arhibo, Roar of the World (if I remember that name correctly). For me, at least, I might throw in a "Pride Sovereign" as he can also create more cat tokens and he gets stronger for every cat you control.
I decided to do a more changeling heavy deck with this. Plus I got mine when I bought a m21 box 😬
Saw this card during reveal season, and I knew what my next Naya commander was. If I can be brought back to my childhood of watching Catdog, it's a "good" card in my opinion

Mmm.. my cousin is letting me use his Arahbo pre-con deck to build Rin and Seri (he didn't really touch it too much), so a good chunk of the cards are already in this deck haha - the bonus of having some of the powerhouse cards in there though.
From my experience, playing the board style usually doesn't get me too far if I don't have draw engines - I was thinking of Mentor of the Meek (despite not being a cat), Season of Growth, Path of Discovery (Mentor of the Meek + Season of Growth + Path of Discovery together is real nice, you can just leave lands on top and scoop 'em right off unless you hit something you want, which then you pay the mana to take it)
Besides that.. was leaning towards mana doubling + damage doubling + un-tap abilities: 5 dogs don't look too scary but it can multiply real fast. (also Infect or Lifelink are options too since Rin and Seri deals the damage)
I can use a lot of this for both Arhabo and Ren and Sirri
I'm only waiting for Rin And Seri to arrive and then I'll finally build this Deck myself 🐶😁🐱
