Make for mister Moo a post in the ground mid pasture with brush brooms screwed on it to give him some scratchen possibility

On my daughter's former horse farm, she had a huge mountain of compost from cleaning stalls and pastures. It formed a high Hill and there was a smoldering fire in it at it's center. There was a fox that built her den on the back side where she and her kits stayed toasty warm throughout the northern New York state winters. They would come out and hunt and play in the snow and return to their heated den afterward. Nature's way is remarkable.

I have Covid and Moody gave me my first good laugh of the day with his nosing into Jason's business. I so appreciate Jason's sense of humor with Moody's interventions.

Excellent composting system. And I just love Moody with his soft eyes. The reason Moody was at that fence is because you were there. He loves the pets and pats and conversation. 🎄💖🎄

    Compost Bins

I would put the green houses, worms and compost in front by the gate. Otherwise, you have to walk all the way to the back of the garden in order to work in the greenhouse or drop off seeds, soil and supplies.

You have a tractor with a bucket and plenty of land you don't need a container. Put it all in a good size pile that you can roll back and forth with your tractor. The secret to a compost pile is turning it over often. So use your tractor and roll it over once to the south then next week roll it over once back to the north. I like piles that are 4-5 ft. tall. pile in a roll. Roll it like a cylinder.

Keep it simple with compost is great but you do need to put some browns with moodys paddies or you will just get slop. Fall leaves will work great. Plus I would make you compost stalls a bit wider so you can get the tractor in there to turn the compost.

I just love MooMan so much, he follows Jason around like a puppy dog with his big cute snoot smelling and watching everything Jason does. Same with Nugget, they both make sure Jason does everything correctly. Peaches has been laying down on the job lately so the boys have filled in for her.

Again , after observing Moody hovering over your compost bin’s initial location, I would suggest he would definitely benefit from a scratching post /brush where he can rub to his hearts content!

Have you thought of planting some nut trees and fruit trees in the animal pens? Of course they'd have to be fenced in til they were strong enough to handle an animal scratching and chewing on them. But not only would you benefit from the fruits, so would the animals. And eventually shade for them. Or just any trees.

What a beautiful morning. The moo-man sure does love you all. The way his eyes roll back when he is getting his lovin. All those cow patties are garden gold.

Mooman will have those full in short order. My suggestion, make the front opening wide enough for the tractor bucket. Turning all that by hand will get old quick.

I love how you used the T-Post on the Pallet Compost Bin. I used electrical ties on mine at my former farmett. (I now live at an Independent Senior Citizens Facility) and cannot garden any longer 😥

I just really appreciate your relationships with all of your animals. Just like you expressed, y'all are so grateful for every one of them and see them as individuals and not just a mess of animals to butcher or make money off of. Finding a purpose for them, like Moody, is very different. That's really important for you and for him. But the love and kindness and compassion each of you has for each of them is unique and amazing. I commend you for it. (It's also why we all love to watch you with them.)
