  • Part two of my Ailsa Craig video. I go a quick tour on the island then clamber to the very top. The island is stuffed full of maritime history..sadly decaying and no one cares. At least I now have my video record to remember my trips there. Part three will come soon and will be a tour round the island by boat. The seabirds are the most interesting part of the visit.

Thanks for answering some of the questions I had when I visited a few weeks ago. I didn't know the rail tracks took coal to the lighthouse and your close-ups of the fog horns are interesting. The white cottage is now in a derelict state...I guess the RSPB has more pressing demands on its funds. My border collie and I climbed to the summit and thankfully there was a breeze on what was also a pretty warm day! Thanks for sharing your video 🙋‍♂🐶

Fantastic video. Was there as a kid but can’t remember any of it. Dads caravan has looked onto that at Culzean bay for 45 years. Fascinating video. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍

Great video! I've always wanted to visit Ailsa Craig as I've seen it from Arran and Irvine Beach. Winston Churchill spent quite a lot of time there planning D-day too!

That was wonderful, although the ruins were heartbreaking. All that history. All those lives lived in those places.

Hi again Chris ..Im very happy you enjoyed the video. The Scottish islands are full of abandoned villages..light houses ..old workings ..monasteries etc ..and although a bit sad ... well worth visiting :-D

If I won the lottery I would buy that island and refurbish all the buildings and repurpose them !

Hi Spinrek..its well worth the effort. I didn't time my accent but have done it several times and guess its around two hours up and down again. If you get the chance..go for it :-D
