It occurred to me watching this that both the colour and roundness of the Dilanza's feet are reminiscent of hooves. The bulky lower torso in general is suggestive of a horse, while the upper body conveys the idea of mounted cavalry that you might've seen in 16th century Europe -- with the plumage being the most obvious element of that whole aesthetic.
Definitely evokes that. I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunately the final effect is pretty hideous in my opinion. Proportions are weird and the seam lines are just the final nail for me. The standard dilanza looks better, but still not great. I'll definitely be sticking with the "Gundam" kits from this series.
Man I love the combination of polearm-arming blade. Partisan-sized weapons are uncommon in the gundam series so it's cool to have something as unique as this
They did.. in Build Fighters Try, the Transient is using a pair of GN Partizans while in IBO, the Shidens were equipped with the same weapon that also known as "the screwdriver".... Good thing these polearms are the best weapons in Gundam metaseries aside from beam sabers..
Grunt weapon simplicity always made sense to me, seeing as the grunt suits are always mass produced. Something made on a massive scale shouldn't have overly complex weapons. I will admit this kits beam rifle looks gorgeous, and is begging for some slightly off color paint to give it a bit more pop and detail.
Gaikotsu always comes through with a nice in depth consumer friendly review, I’m so glad how chill he keeps the positivity of the review without ignoring criticisms. This is such a breathe of fresh air compared to the American Gunpla Reviewers (ItsA and 2S especially) who have just constantly been complaining about this line for “being too simple and kiddy” and then arguing any kit without polycaps is “Bandai being cheap and ripping everyone off” it’s pretty sad how they genuinely try so hard to be contrarian on anything that’s from the past 2 years,

Definitely needed a top coat in my opinion. I have nothing against glossy finishes, but out-of-the-box it's a very plasticky gloss, which is emphasised by the grey being matte. hell yeh!!!!!!!!!!!! Gaikotsu with another epic review! thank you buddy! Got all these new ones on pre order still so you are certainly lucky to get these!
Before the 1st episode got released i really wanted to buy this kit because of its looks, just to see it get destroyed like patrick colasour is pretty funny
You should think about doing the SMP Aquarion. For it not being from the main bandai line it's a very good kit. It's a non-polycap build for the 3 devas (planes) and they can be combined into 3 different forms and has good articulation and strong joints, only issue is the stickers but thats only because it has painted parts already most stickers are formed for their location. If you decide to try it I'd recommend getting the p-bandai weapons which include a 3ft long fist.
This is such a striking design. The weird but awesome base color really comes to life beside that neon green weapon. There's also an element of comedy, with the exaggerated proportions and the freakin' feather, that lets us know what the pilot of this machine takes themselves more seriously than we should.
i was literally going to say i bet this kit would benefit massively from a matte coat like you did on the Kshatriya, but then you painted it! and i agree, also now that ive seen this i wonder if they would rework the kshatirya shoulders any if they made a MG of it
The Witch from Mercury is strange in that it already has some of my all-time favorite designs in the Aerial and Michaelis, but also hideous ones like this bastard child of Sazabi and Gusion.
Matte top coat is the way to go. I use a brand from the local hardware store. Way cheaper and works just as well as “model kit” top coats. Really brings out all the details and panel lines on a kit. A must do for any “serious” lol builder.
I remember watching your figma reviews years ago and had no idea you turned into a gundam review channel which I’m into too!!! I clicked your video and I was like wait why do I recognize his voice!? Lol
For holllow gaps if you mix nubs from the runner that matches the part you want to seal up with tamiya cement Then let it dry and sand the part you won't have to paint the part.
So what kits do you think could make a "space marine" ms, I was thinking this kits lages and destroy gundam shoulders and a head from the white knight gundam from brakers
Hey, honest question: what are your top 3 favorite mecha? Not just gunpla, but an overall unit from whatever game or series. If it's a custom thing like from armored core, mind listening it's parts and weapons? Yeah I know, random question
Not digging the hot pink. Might have to use some hot pink metallic paint on it when I get it. Definitely getting it though, because I loved it as soon as I seen it
good lord those seamlines. they look easy enough to clean up but that is astoundingly sloppy. I'm currently cleaning up the seams on an old hg zaku I and I honestly almost think the ones on the legs here are worse. Still getting it as it's both chunky and beautiful but I'd really hope for less work required than this on a new kit
Thanks for the tip with the Raser Pro. I definitely want this kit, as I always love the antagonist mobile suits, and definitely plan to get this. Actually planning on asking my local hobby store if they're getting the new kits from G-Witch, cause they all seem super sick so far.
Also, on a side note, I've tried the flow style markers, but it always seems to smear, whether I use rubbing alcohol or the included marker. Any tips for getting it not to smear?
Hey Mecha, when you top coat the kits, do you separate the main parts (arms, legs, etc) from the kit or just coat the completed kit? Also, panel line before the coat? Thanks for the videos as well, appreciate the time you take to do them!
Just got my first kit from hobby link Japan. It was so fast and the packaging was super fantastic it was a HUGE 👍 up experience. I am curious how quick the kits that I ordered that are on back order will be become available
very nice looking kit, the ankles which were my biggest concern with the aerial and lfrith seem to be significantly better. and a double jointed elbow too, quite nice. stylistically it makes me think of the love child of a graze and a grimoire. lots of large angled panels as well as that white detail on the sides the chest and the reactor color rounded cylinders by the cockpit. and then just enough chubby feeling round sections on the lower half. almost makes you wish the arms were a bit... curvier, to match the legs
Hey, Mecha! I'm a big fan and I recently started building gunpla myself my first kit was the eg nu gundam but I would like to build a hg or mg now what would you recommend?
Not even putting this thing together so I can accurately depict its final moments

Who is itsA?
With a little fancy filligree and pattern outlines, it could look like some sort of ceremonial royal guard unit, like that red Leo.
i would like if it had those capes or the mercurius planet defenders on it's back, definitely would make this kit a little bit more fancy
this kit is so good. It's like love at first sight, with an evangelion angel cross for a weapon. Wish i had this! Love it.

The chest area looks like it belongs to the HG Grazes from IBO
I always like the badguy/ grunt suits.
they did dilanza's debut dirty, but ngl the kit are nice tho
How is it dirty? This suit was stomping that other grunt mook with ease during its first appearance.
"just like we've seen in g witch releases this has great shoulders!"
my lfrith shoulder
Dude I have this on the way and I can’t wait to scribe feathers into that plume
What if, you take the opposite end of that spear, and kit bash a sort of scythe? That would be so cool!
I love the look of this suit, kinda reminds me of the OG Gusion, the chunky green version.
The last thing I expected from this kit was an ab crunch. Good job Bandai
This looks like an upgraded Gundam Gusion. Looks awesome
It looks more like the man rodi to me
Before the 1st episode got released i really wanted to buy this kit because of its looks, just to see it get destroyed like patrick colasour is pretty funny
bought this today and it was a joy to put together :) really love this body type
The wimpier, bulkier fusion of the Rozen Zulu, the Man Rodi, the Dom, and some touches of McQuve-inspired ideologies

the wing zero 😂😂😂
Just built this last night. Seriously wanting a MG cause I just love the aesthetic of this kit
in the show they called Guel's mobile suit red, when it's clearly magenta, they must've mistranslated that part.
Nah they also called pink Zaku red and orange Zeta gray its not Misstranslation just tradition

Its a good mark of diversity and contrast, making the great design appear even greater
I hear people saying this version of the Dilanza reminded them of the mecha from Aura Battler Dunbine due to it looking insect-like with its design.
A bit OT, but I just realized that Norba Shino will really love the color of this MS. 🤣
well at least when it has no full inner frame it waon't be loose overtime like the others and ibo

When will the kits be available in Europe ?
Why is Bandai moving away from polycaps? Isn't that just going to diminish the lifespan of the joints? 😞

NO MG on the horizon, only "Full Mechanics" for Aerial, yet another renaming of 1/100 scale. Wish they would stick with a name for 1/100 NG already.
Even without a partial inner frame, the HG MD-0032G Guel's Dilanza looks like it has very accurate part separation.
