      Was coming to the comments to say that. As he casually pulled out the second table to bring down his square water jug that fit in the wood shelving unit, that was just so slick.

    Coffee grinder is so cool - and the grinds stay there till you need them. If I had to pour over or pour in already hot water, for sure I'd make a mess and burn myself. But I did actually find a 4 cup 12 volt drip coffeemaker for the truck! All I need is that lil coffee grinder now. Got 2 1- quart old school thermoses, like guys used to take to work in the shop. Keeps coffee hot over 6 hours.

    A dear friend and i took a 10 mile horse trip into the White mountains near Leavenworth, such a glorious time in the wilderness. Having a cup of coffee was a savored luxury. Ours was just instant coffee, but a delicious treat even so. Your videos are well done and I especially take in your "fun facts" about Mt Shasta and Mt Rainier, and the applicable laws of physics about water boiling affected by elevation. TYSM. Keep making great videos! Especially keep going Out There.

    Tried the aeropress hiking, makes good coffee, but a simple drip style like the soto helix makes just as good coffee in my opinion. And weighs much less, is less bulk and easier to clean. My experience is that good quality coffee is more important than the method of brewing :)

    I've neve added more water once I turned the AeroPress back upright. I'll give that I try. It makes sense to have most or all of you coffee pass through the grounds.

    Thanks for the video! Been thinking about getting this set up. Funny that you mention how the boiling point of water changes with altitude. I did a trip across the USA and while in New Mexico my radiator hose came off in the desert so I had to replace it with water. I ended up driving through Colorado and going through the mountains and because water boils at a lower temperature than coolant and I was at such a high altitude my Jeep was overheating and the water was boiling in the coolant reservoir

      @10 fl oz 30 minutes not an unvalved jar. Plus you need to weigh the risks of a broken jar and all the wasted space/weight. Also, no coffee is going stale on me when I'm camping. Different story at home because I own my own roasting company and have excessive variety at all times

    • @veganpotterthevegan
      @veganpotterthevegan Před rokem

      @10 fl oz 30 minutes that's simply because you don't understand how coffee ages. Don't buy old coffee and your beans will be good for weeks in a bag

      @@veganpotterthevegan I never buy roasted coffee beans. Mine are always freshly roasted. I roast them myself (my own personal use). You are then suggesting I should try storing some of the beans I roast in a small plastic bag, and they would be expected to keep as fresh as they would in glass jar?
