You can also make fursuit heads/tails/ears/paws/feet etc. with this.
It’s better if you use a dog grooming brush then a comb is much faster!
Tried it, and it works pretty well. Just keep in mind that you need to make it longer than you want it to be in the end, because it'll lose length. And you definitely need to start from the bottom and work your way up. I didint straighten mine because I liked the curly look for the specific doll, so I'm not sure how it is after that.
how many minutes do you need to comb the hair for a doll with a comb?

Your supposed to start at the bottom when brushing. Also the whole start part you don't have to really do that you can easily make loops around a pencil that's what I did. Also you have to straighten the hair

I know that this is an old video but if you do this again you should try brushing it from bottom to top it makes it easier, also if you want it straighter you could take a flat iron to it ^-^ love this video btw I didn’t realize you could do this with yarn!

Tip comb from the bottom up just like you would trying to untangle hair
you should brush from bottom to top it looks allot better

Would it be possible to use this method for a 2x fuller and thicker version of a tail?
Coral Williams yes, of course I think 👍👍 we can sew it in a crochet rope with chain stitch, or make tie of one by one yarn then brush it. It will be fluffy and cool I guess ^^
Ive made one using this method before! For the purpose of a tail i made a tail shaped pillow out of felt first and then sewed the wefts of yarn to the tail mostly because i was lazy and didnt want to make as many wefts so that it could look full also i straightened the wefts with a hair straightener( if you do this make sure you use 100% acrylic yarn for your wefts) to make the hair look shiny and straight and softer.also when brushing the yarn out i started from the bottom and the "hair" was longer and the brushing goes much faster if you use a steel tooth brush or a dog brush because with a small comb like this it will take too long if youre trying to do a large number of wefts hope this was helpful good luck

So if you cut longer pieces of yarn it will be longer right. But is it possible to comb it and not lose most of the yarn?
yes it is :p , so you can use pet combs to overcomb that problem, I just have a cat with short fur, so I don't buy that comb ^^ I were using anything availible in my house :p

AMAZING! Could this technique be used to make a pom pom for a hat????
with pompom hat, why you don't use pom pom kit (or cut a circle then wrap with yarn) ? I think this technique suitable to make anything with long hair as: hair doll, fox/horse tail, or fur collar coat!
Trying it but it's difficult to separate the yarn from the beginning it keeps tearing half way

vkook is my dad deal with it if we start to brush it from the bottom first, then brush higher and higher to top, we will lost it not much. And yes, the yarn must to break, it's normal . Hope it necessary for you 😉

So the yarn hair reduced to 1/2 when you were coming it out?
If we begin brush at the bottom, then at the top, and finally brush whole yarn hair, we will lost about 1/3 yarn hair at the end ^^ , my doll is so big then I am so lazy to do that hehe, too much yarn hair~~

How long did you cut the yarn? I love it!
I cut it about 30cm, but if you brush first from the bottom, then brush the top, the yarn that we lost will be less, and your finish yarn hair will be longer.
What kind of yarn did you use please
I used Bernat for this, you can use any kind of yarn with element: *acrylic* > or = 80%, that's perfect!!

Yvonne Williams did a similar video but she was making fur. I think if you try her method of only using about 3 inches of yarn then you might not have to waste so much.
