All of Erykah Badu's songs has a meaning. This was a stab to music bought online instead of buying a physical vinyl album or a DVD from a record store. It was to support the record stores before going out of business. This was her way of reminding people of the roots of music and how its was bought. Basically downloading has caused a lot of pirating and other problems. When you have a physical hard copy of an album you don't have to pay fees to hear it. You didn't only have to listen to it in Apple music. You don't have all the restrictions that online music has. And to be honest the music has a cleaner, crisper, live sound especially if you have a great surround sound with a good diamond needle. Record stores use to be a big thing. Hearing the latest music. Hanging out. They would give block parties. Dance contests. The only place you could get a ticket to a concert or possible get a free ticket. Musicians would come to advertise and sale. But as time comes so does change.
+rayaee the way they make videos , they kind of have the same style when it comes to that , they're care free and they can get anyone to like their style , they're persuasive with these type of things.
RIP to my momma. This was her shit. 14 years old ridin around vibin to this with her ona good sunny day in that GTP on the northside of St. Louis. 09’ shit 💔❤️
aapadre What do Beyoncé and Jay-Z have to do with this? Y’all love to bring them up (especially Beyoncé) for no reason. You can uplift Erykah Badu and Andre 3000 without feeling the need to bring up other artists who are very different. You’re messy asf.
Smooth Cutta....with thanks back at ya! Erykha....is a genius....her sound lifts up my soul...can't live without this sound, this underated talent! Damn..I'm mad..this musical genius hasn't received a quarter of what she deserves! Just love her!!
I love this video. The album covers are like a walk down memory lane for me. My dad had all of the albums featured in this video. Ms. Badu is a mess, I can't get enough of her.
A lot people tend to not show true appreciation to Erykah Badu's style of music, but songs like this is what makes her very exquisite & unique than any other artist out there especially now in present day era, there's nothing better than a strong Neo Soul/R&B record, and 9th Wonder truly help put together a masterpiece. Much respect to Erykah Badu...one of the queens of old skool soul. Her artistry is truly one of a kind. 😌👌

carlover72 It's not, but to completely knock it off is whack. They even used one of the same records (De La Soul, 3 feet high and rising). Buster move for an artist.
