Thank you so much for these tutorials. I have only ever had a point and shoot, with a little zoom. The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZS19. After a trip to Alaska, I knew I needed an upgrade. I have only had my new FZ1000 for a couple of days and using your tutorials, I’m so thrilled with my new camera. I’m going back to Alaska in 10 days and will be experimenting with my new camera and your tutorials. Just bought your guide as well. @@frederickorcutt9112 yes! I absolutely loved the camera. It was perfect for me. The right next step from a point and shoot. Your tutorials w really gave me the max use of the camera, we had lots of fog at the glacier. I got shots of mountain goats and Dall sheep on the mountain tops and even got a photo of our cruise ship 6.9 miles (11.1 km) away from the White Pass & Yukon railway. This summer I’m going to the Isle of Man and Portugal. Beautiful places to take pictures of in both places. Just bought a great new camera bag with room for my guide book, snacks, water bottle and snacks.

Graham, I would have thought that in landscape mode the camera would stop down. Instead, it is wide open with a fairly low ISO.
If I were to do the settings for a landscape shot, I would go to f16, fire up anti shake, up the ISO until I got a shutter speed where I could hold the camera steady, and take the shot.
The camera's settings at this point dont make sense to me.
