- If you read thestripe.com regularly, then you probably know that I am a massive fan of Charleston, South Carolina. It is one of my favorite cities in the world. As I've been playing with adding more video to the site, I thought it would be fun to take you along on this past trip and film a little travel vlog. A look at some of my favorite restaurants (167 Raw, McCrady's Tavern, Leon's Oyster Shop, The Ordinary, Xiao Bao Biscuit and Sugar Bakeshop), the cutest new B&B (86 Cannon) and the best lobster roll + lemon cupcake in the city. I hope you enjoy it!

Been to 167 Raw several times. Excellent food. Lobster Roll is legit. However they only have like 20 seats total including the bar. It's absurdly small. Get there when they open or be prepared to wait a long time.

Nice little tour. Have to say that I loved Charleston. Our family vacationed there just before the fourth of July 2017. My daughter scouted the restaurant on Yelp and Raw 167 was the first place we hit. A definite winner, but then again every place we chose during the four days was excellent. I'm looking forward to going back. As a comparison later that summer we were in Quebec and we enjoyed it tremendously including the cuisine, but the food we had in Charleston ranked right up there with Quebec though obviously quite different. Lastly the restaurant prices at both places was really reasonable compared to places where I live in NJ.

Do you think this is a ok place to travel alone as a woman?
Yes. This is one of the ritziest areas. Pretty much any state in the United States is safe to travel as a woman. We don't live in a third world country. Not sure what you read ....
Chase The Face Sometimes at night it’s not so safe. Sometimes there are just some people who are drunk or just weird. It’s not all the time but just occasionally.

This should be titled "How to do boujee things in Charleston" I was born here and can't afford to do any of this shit. Its cheaper for me to buy plane tickets and visit other cities across the country. #BROKEBOY
