Had the NC750X for 3 years myself.. a great bike. Now since 3 years have a R nine T; a great fun bike. However; looking back at the NC it was just great. It was smooth, easy to ride, cheap. So fast forward 1 year (now 3 months ago) my sister got her motorbike licence and guess which bike we bought for her. A NC750S.
Edit: if i had to choose one bike to get me to the end of the world; i would buy a NC750X in a heartbeat.

I recently changed my VFR 1200X for the NT1100 and part of that thinking was my NC750X would also go to fund the deal. However, I had a last minute change of mind and still have the NC and am so glad I did. It a terrific motorcycle👍 Enjoyed this video as always.

The low center of gravity of the NC is easy to take for granted, until you ride another bike. I agree, it's tough to fault, and fun to ride in a competent, non-dramatic sort of way.

"I have no self control so it would be way too tempting to just open up that throttle and feel the power" - amen to that. I've been eyeing bikes for a while, possibly looking for an upgrade to the trusty old NC, but I can relate to that too well. Plus, here in Israel the cost of upgrading to something faster like a Tracer 900, even a used one, would cost me as much as shipping my bike to Europe and spending 4 months camping and riding around the entire continent. Now, you tell me what sounds like a better way to spend my money, I'm leaning towards the second option.

When you talked about the suspension I think you should have added a disclaimer. You have customized yours, right?
For me, the only reason to get a "better" bike would be for a more comfortable (adjustable?) suspension. The NC does perfectly fine in so many ways and any so-called upgrade will surely mean worse mpg. If mine got stolen tomorrow I don't think I've seen any other new bike that works as well for me.

I live in the UK and was recently along at my local Honda dealership getting my bike a new M.O.T. This is a yearly requirement here for all vehicles, whilst waiting for my bike I took advantage of a test ride on there new bike the bike I tried was the new Honda XL750 Transalp what a fantastic bike this is much cheaper to buy than the Africa Twin but more powerful the my current NC750X so I am thinking hard about a change. You’re so right, it’s the only sane decision. Riding a motorcycle is furthermore always an emotion in my opinion and that feeling is the same on every bike. Only nuances, big or small, are felt on different bikes, but they wear of like everyone else agrees I read.
What you can’t buy that easily is the place you live and ride daily, because I must say I’m a bit jealous of the place you can spend your rides. This for the roads and the weather since I live in the Netherlands and here we do not have so much beautiful scenery, free space or good weather, at least in my opinion.

First , nice vedio as usual .
Second , your NC is great bike , please keep it .
Regarding the best option for if you thinkg to change your bike in the future is africa twin of course .
Because you are a tall man , and tall men will not feel comfortable with race or cruise bikes even with gold wings , because of low seat , adventure bikes is the only soultion . I tried all of them , africa twin is the king , every time i ride it , its like the first time .
You will never feel that it is getting boring or that you are used to riding it .
As you mention in the vedio , you do not need more speed or more power , but the Gap between AT and NC is so big not just in power , but in every thing , Especially in the beauty and harmony of riding , things will never find it in the NC ,
Call your HONDA dealer , and ask them to give it to you for 3 days as test drive .
But stay away of DCT , its not a good choice , not in AT not in NC not even in gold wings .
    Try and judge .

I just finished a 3,800 kilometer ride with 6 mates on:
    1) 1250 GS, 2022 model
    2) 1200 GS, 2019 model
    3) 1200 GS, 2016 model
    4) 750 GS, 2020 model
    5) 850 GS, 2022 model.
    6) KTM 1290 Super Duke, 2021 model
The 1250 GS just didn't want to start one morning, even with a brand new battery. The 1200 GS 2016 didn't finish the ride, as the driveshaft spline failed around 800 kilometers into the ride. The 850 GS faltered around 400 km, and finished the ride in limp mode (5,000 RPM, 125 kph max). The culprit? The camshaft sensor failed--on a 1-year-old bike with 13,000 km on the clock. The KTM 1290's sidestand switch malfunctioned at a gas stop, so we spent more than and hour bypassing it.
Meanwhile, even with 55,000 hard riding kilometers on it, I not only kept up with them on my 2019 NC750x DCT, but also at times found myself up front when the twisties came up. The only problem I had was a battery that died on me--but it was due for replacement anyway.
Guy on the 850, a circuit racer, was intrigued so I swapped bikes with him for around 50 kilometers of twisties. After the ride, he was raving about how great the DCT was. He wondered why other manufacturers don't offer DCTs in their lineup. He said the next bike he buys will be a DCT.

@@godowskie Yes I am in Denmark, so bikes (and cars) are expensive, but the Transalp only cost like 10-15% more then the NC depending on model/color, but about the half of the African Twin (again depending on model) and it is just a bit more offroad minded then the NC but way more touring minded then the African twin and with nearly twice the HP then the NC. I expect it is way more fun then a NC and better offroad and still as good at touring.

My NC will have to go in september if income money is as I expect. Engine is great and powerfull enough, frunk is genius, maintenance is cheap and easy…. but comfort is an issue for me (poor suspension and weak seat, custom seat had improve it but not so much. Will aftermarket suspension improve confort ?)

      1. NC is worth nothing second hand
      2. Transalp will cost twice what I paid for the NC new. Insurance, hand guards, bash plate, top box mount, more expensive maintenance … all add up.
      3. Transalp engine is high revving, not like the relaxed NC
      4. If I bought a new bike it would have to have electronic cruise control and decent suspension - the new Transalp has neither of these.

  • @theosphilusthistler712

I'm skeptical, highly skeptical. Having lived in Sydney I know how the thought process works. Anything in Sydney that reckons it's pretty good decides that it's the best in Sydney. Because Sydney is the best city in the world whatever is the best in Sydney _must_ be the best in the world. (and "the world" is just some irrelevant little place west of the blue mountains) So, pretty good = "the best in the world".
But I've had a lot of good pies and I don't recall any of them being in Sydney.

Ye....dream ON...😆😆 Africa Twin does LOOK great, but Honda is probably employing young and STUPID people, who have no interest in the needs of the more adult customers. If one day they get some IQ stimulating pills, maybe the NC 750 X will be a propper bike - with no need in upgrasdes yo've done and with installed CC - THEN I'd like to buy one again.
After all what isn't OK with this bike : 1) CC..... 2) propper suspension..... 3) front brakes ( at least like on the newest CB500 ). That's it - and yet they DON'T fix those, because they want to sell more of Africa... and their new "Trans..." ( wghich is also lacking the CC🤮🤮 ) 🤷🏻‍♂🤷🏻‍♂

Cruise control is what made me decide to upgrade my 2015 NC700x to a 2020 Africa Twin Adventure Sport (and it offroad capabilities). Except... I kept the NC, and now I'm think about trading in the Africa Twin for something lighter. The Aprillia Taureg is the current object of lust because it's basically a NC with cruise control.
