good lord Brandon Routh playing an effective villain. This is perfect casting.
This isn't the 1st time he played a villain watch chuck
he was on arrow, right? he played ray palmer?
@@majinally3527 yes he played ray palmer, he was also a main character on dc’s legends of tomorrow
@@majinally3527 also Superman
He was a good villain on Chuck too.
Credit to Routh for having the balls to play this character the way he does knowing he may get flack for it by people who don’t know better.
You know an actor is doing a great job when you can hate & love the work they do in any show......
lol imagine being an actor and not being able to play a character on a tv show because you have to fear for your career and maybe even worse things happening to you .... only in liberal murica where everybody is so tolerant especially on twitter
Jeez I hate his character so much love it! The actor is great, much different from ray palmer and Superman
@@Wachi2000 cry lmao
When a character makes me hate them I love them more as an actor. They have done their job of making me feel the hate the producer and writer wanted us to see.
I would love to see Commander West talk some sense into Stanton like he did with Harper
Especially since he is attacking his son
I am not excusing Stanton's behavior , however Jackson did screw up. You never leave evidence unattended. Does not matter if you think it was a legitimate stop or not. Had I done that when I was a rookie still on probation I would have been cut loose or at the very least forced to go through another year as a rookie on probation. And that was 25 years ago also I am white so race was not an issue in my dept. My first FTO was a black officer, a damn good but tough officer. I know it is a TV show but half the things these rookies do would have been grounds for instant termination, especially when West froze up during a shootout. No FTO worth a damn would have let that slide or give the rookie a second chance.
Yeah, and then Brandon Routh would remain a regular on the show. Clean his act up...and keep him! This is what you call a great actor!
But using his fists.
@@krondarr8865 it sounds like you're excusing his behavior.
I love Brandon routh as a good guy and a bad guy he does such a good job of making the bad guy charismatic
But I still see Superman every time he’s on screen
Which version of Superman? The movie one or the Kingdom Come one?
@@SRWOtaku the movie version and Kingdom Come version Routh played are One.
I really liked him on chuck
Bro i only see ray palmer
I see him as Vegan Superpowered rockstar Tod Ingram
It's great to see this series take serious its pledge as to how it was going to portray police and do so while remaining entertaining.
Stanton is going after Jackson...which means he has a death wish.
They may need some assistance from Charles Carmichael.
Sorry but who’s Stanton, I’m so dumb
@@edend2009 he was a veteran officer who had racist views on police work and he didn't like when Jackson called him out it he got back at Jackson by letting him get beaten and not helping him,but Jackson got the upper hand on him by using his own bodycam to expose his deeds,in the end Stanton got what he deserved
i wanted tim to kick his ass so bad.
@@rickyjackson197 and it was awesome to see Jackson get some justice ❤️
It’s great to see Atom/Superman be a police officer in “The Rookie”
Ikr
A corrupt one at that
The problem with loyalty to a cause is that the cause will always betray you xD
depends on the cause, sometimes YOU betray the cause and not the other way around, then blame the cause for what you did to it
Transformers AOE reference
So basically an outright confession showing no remorse whatsoever making you an outright, unashamed monster. And all you have to say is that’s just how it is and you won’t change. You have no business policing anyone. Outright hypocrisy at its finest.
Well, that's the point. He's emboldened, just as they mentioned earlier. He thinks he can't be touched.
How do i go from loving Routh to hating him that's good acting right there
Brandon Routh is just soooo....... amazing!!!!!
I mean, these gazes, and the way he is acting.......
Aaaaaaaa!!!!! 💕💕💕💕
He's a pretty big asshole in this show. Makes me sad.
@@ashlynnp.9609 You should've seen him on Chuck
@@shapeshifter7676
Oh my god, I forgot he was Daniel Shaw on Chuck!
@@ashlynnp.9609 Playing the asshole shows he is so very talent!!!!! 💕
That face at 1:16 though. Grey was like "I wanna slap this fool!".
I’ve never hated anyone more than Stanton!
Remember, the guy who plays him is NOT that man.
Dolores Umbridge?
I find her much worse
And there are thousands of Officer Stantons out there.
@@UOUPv2sadly 💔
I like how they're going about the whole thing. There is no preaching or over the top unrealistic plot line; in fact, the other rookie ratting them out for his gain (and out of fear) is something that can very much happen in real life. Now Stan is going to fight back and I'm more excited to see how they will take him down!
I was SOOOOOO PISSED SEEING THIS SCENE! That brother cop is no Brother! Letting a Racial White Man get away with shit to get promoted in the force!! And now Stanton is going against Jackson to get him fired, but at least Sgt Grey is on Jackson’s side
It's messed up. It's a shame he obviously didn't have the same support from his other rookies and T.O., and Sergeant as Jackson has.
He sees a broken system that can’t be fixed. So why bother? That’s what he thinks.
u know this is a tv show right?
@@Wachi2000 Yes, but the stuff they showed in The Rookie, is “Real Stuff” that happens in Real Life, and it doesn’t matter that it’s just a TV Show
@@carterthiero7633 nah ... it's a tv show ... and unless you are a police officer in a similar situation all you do is assume that this "REAL STUFF" actually takes place commonly
Sgt. Grey wants to have Jacksons back but does he ever want to get Nolans
I think the fact that Nolan was able to go undercover during that one episode when the PD thought he was dirty. and him still looking into a highly respected detective shows that Grey respects and trusts Nolan.
Grey watches out for nolan in his own way and its a great relation they have even if grey puts him down its making nolan a better cop because he understands the sgt has experience
Nolan was Grey's least favorite out of the three rookies when they all started due to his age and Grey's skepticism about his reasoning for being there. He made that perfectly clear to him from day 1. Their relationship improved significantly in season 2 but the Armstrong mess damaged a lot of Grey's trust in Nolan (Nolan choosing to launch his own unsanctioned investigation into Armstrong definitely rubbed Grey the wrong way and led to his written reprimand). In a way Grey has kind of been punishing Nolan for that all season.
@@dstacyify Grey showed Noaln right from square one that he (Grey) was wildly biased against Nolan and thus should not have had the job he did. You are not to bring your own prejudice into the situation.
So basically... Tim and Lucy kinda messed up approaching that guy. It’s a shame that people would allow others to be mistreated to save their own hind. I miss West/Lopez together, man.
Brandon Routh must be *loving* this role!!
Yeah he's gotten kind of typecast into a lot of holier than thou boy scout roles. This is most definitely not one of those roles.
Yea he may look messed up here but in real life he's just a big teddy bear
I know being typecast must suck but he's one of the few people who've played superman on the big screen. It just seems weird to me.
Routh is the opposite of Stanton. He supports BLM and is against police brutality
@@Ethan-dn1wc I've seen him on Chuck, he was nowhere near typecasting there, and Scott Pilgrim, too.
Routh is a great actor. He gets into character.
Great video
Brandon Routh is so adorable!!!!!!!
❤️🤓
I love Brandon Routh so much
God i want to see brandon routh in a good guy role for a while again
The blue wall of silence is very dangerous.
Yup
"The system is not gonna change."
Me: One truth among a hundred lies.
But can you live with yourself if you stay in such a Rigged System?
My cousin played little league football with Brandon in Norwalk Iowa dude pulled this role off perfectly
Brandon and henry are the only actors that i know of that played live action supes and didn't fade into obscurity after playing him...haha i guess those two mangae to beat the curse.
It's hard to see Ray Palmer, the boy scout like this
Oh snap! Superman returns with a badge!? I can dig it!
I liked Brandon Routh better as The Atom
I feel like this is an attest to his acting abilities. He played Superman, both in the movie and the kingdom come version in crisis on infinite earths, the Atom, two really good altruistic heros. Him being able to play a bad guy is great to see.
@@TheSequimKid it was a little unfair to him that superman returns flopped and his career kinda tanked but he is a pretty god actor
There's always that "one" in every organization or unit.
I wonder if Grey is gonna use what Stanton wrote up on West as evidence to Commander West! That would be interesting to see as well as him (Stanton) getting fired!
Superman to a dirty cop... What a journey of Doug Stanton 😂
This reminds me of the time when Routh played Ray Palmer when Ray thought Oliver was the Green Arrow and went after him.
I think the high pitch ringing sound they had playing at 1:15 was just brilliant, showing that Sgt. Grey while seeming attentive wasn't really paying any mind to what Officer Doug was saying
Love it
Brandon Routh is the one playing the evil cop i heared about 😩😫
Imagine this guy playing Injustice Superman
Someone is channeling his inner Shaw
I mean what happens if Sgt Grey doesn't help Stanton file that report on Jackson? I mean isn't Grey Stanton's boss after all?
Possibly go to Grey's boss and tell them grey isn't doing his job.
what eipsode is this
Superman really turned into homelander here lol
What is that Brandon routh aka atom aka Superman from Dc legends of tomorrow.
Stanton was so smart to add the compliments in theee to hide any mail intent
Stanton looks like a young Nathan Fillion

So strange seeing Routh play a horrible person. When is this back in the UK.
Nah man, he played as an Evil Ex-Boyfriend in Scot Pilgrim Vs the World
@@flamingredx Yeah but he's like the nicest person in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.

There’s no better police procedural than The Shield.
Harper handled her problem cop pretty well. Fell down some stairs and had to take a disability pension.
Well, Jackson was still a rookie at this point.
Show recommendations?
9-1-1 and 9-1-1 lone star and Chicago fire. And Chicago pd
ive always known he could play a good villain since, his days as daniel shaw on chuck..... i couldn believe, it was superman. lol
Hell yeah Stanton
Hello👋🏻☺️
Good acting: let’s not forget he played powerful enjoyable villain. Here he played hateful character
Who give red kryptonite to Kal?
I wanted him to be good so badly but why 😭😭
Just to came here by Brandon Routh
Never seen the nicest person could play a role after seeing him yesterday being a narcissist, two face racist, and plays it by being your friend definitely not cool.. but hey he’s still okay he getting paid for the role. And seriously feel bad for Nolan b/c his mother is seriously a piece of work, such a sexiest talking about belittling man that they can’t do anything that women can’t, and saying woman are better and conning people, people like Nolan’s Bosses wife SHE A WOMEN, she is insane and using her only son ridiculous I feel bad for Nolan for making the most toughest decisions that he’ll ever have to do good for him.
And at the end if the day... Its a show
@@sel508 Duh. It's called people actually getting into it...enjoying it.
He was an interesting villain, I wish he came back.
Damn it Ray Palmer
Ok so he's a guest star right, he's gonna be gone SOOOOON
Season 3 episode 13 is his final episode.
why ABC have to make this if you can just watch all of that in internet?
Most but not all in the audience: weird to see Ray Palmer / Superman play a villain

Stanton is going doWn
No no I didn't say no
What season & episode this from??
Season 3 episode 4 "Sabotage"
My like, is for Brandon 😃
What happened to superman
The Vegan from Scott Pilgrim acting his ass bruh DAMN!!!!
Idk im really interested to see where this goes. I mean with the Rep that they have set on him, It seems as though he is not a full racist, just a profiler that abuses his power. This could go either way. either that could go away by revealing he has a more darker history or they could redeem him. Either way, it's best TV i've seen in years.
It's a little unsettling to have Kingdom Come Superman to be a racist prick.😟
0:32 I saw u in a movie and they turned u in water or was it not u

What is a blue page?
Not sure if this is the exact definition:
May be used to document deficient performances or censurable incidents, involving Department employees, including members of the Police Reserve Corps.
This is the direction Titus Makin wanted the show to go, which apparently hurt ratings and then he wanted his character killed off not long after when they refused to continue in this direction.
I want to see
BRANDON ROUTH
play a bad SUPERMAN
When did the atom get here lmao
The beginning of season 3
Wow! This guy is good-looking and a great actor. He should play the role of Superman in a movie one time!
Brendan Routh is also a good actor too.
Couldn't they have cast someone else? I don't like seeing Brandon Routh as a villain. The guy was Superman for cripes sake!
I think that’s why it’s brilliant casting, I don’t know if it was in the trailers I never watched them but I was so surprised in that first scene he was a dick
Nolan is still In right Or Is He Not in the New Season?
