Yea, this is cool an all but can we stop turning this whole incredibly serious topic, that is a real job, a trendy thing because being into cryptids and wanting to pursue it as a job comes with a lot of backlash and isn’t this cool trendy thing. I also feel like a lot of people Dont understand the actual danger of some cryptids. It’s not a trend, it’s a real study, and it’s kinda annoyingly to see people make it out to be this cute little athstetic trend thing, when it’s actually a really dark topic. Yes it is also beautiful and enlightening but it’s not just a cute little athstetic. I’m glad some pepole are really getting into cryptozoology but, most of this is just people wanting to make it a trend and be athstetic from what I’ve seen and that really annoys me as somebody who follows cryptozoology and has followed it since a young age
Wait but isn’t it good that more people are getting into cryptozoology, like it’s an absolutely fascinating topic, but the truth is so many things are; and it’s not untill they get somewhat popular that others can discover them and be like “wow! So cool! Didn’t know such a thing existed! Now I want to learn more!”If things stay out of the limelight it’s much harder for others to find and appreciate it. Isn’t it a little gatekeepy to want people to only interact with it in certain ways, if no one is getting hurt then where’s the harm? I think people generally sometimes like to make light of a dark topic because that’s very human. I never understand why people who are into niche things get upset when it gets popular, why be grumpy that a lot of people are discovering and appreciating something you like?
@@kittencomicslol its not a bad thing that its becoming mainstream, theres no harm to it. and people, like me, are actually getting into it because of it. i got into literature mainly by academia aesthetics and now its one of my favorite hobbies. its not like its a disorder or anything and anyone can get into it. some people maybe even get into studying it because of it. people can enjoy reading and not be a writer or be interested in crafting and not be a crafter. and also its pretty gatekeepy to just let only some people enjoy a certain topic
