I've watched T90 for years now so this is amazing, it's been my AoE dream to get casted by T90 and what a game to be the one that gets picked. I submitted this a month or so ago and I only just found out that T90 casted it from one of my opponents today! It was an amazing comeback on Entick's part I'll give him that, and submitting a loss is funnier than just submitting a game you win, I think. A note about my ELO and my absolute noobish plays: I've only just started playing ranked and I believe this game was my first 20 or 30 games played. I know way more about game theory from watching T90 than I do actual execution so my ELO is really not indicative of my inexperience playing ranked, I'd say I'm more of a 500 or 600 ELO player.

And hats off to t90. Two years ago I was really not understanding the game, but then I discovered t90 channel, and he really takes time to explain things in his casts (I had no idea what a build order was!).

You had upgraded your cavalry's blacksmith tech, I think it would've been better for you to upgrade your knights to cavalier and then paladins than invest into woad raiders. Also invest into siege more.

This game was a masterclass in the importance of scouting. Red could have cleaned up green easily when he still had trebs, but he didn't have vision on anything so he didn't see the reboom.
Its pretty hard to see a single villager on the map
@@benedekvincze2953 it can be, yea. But he didn't scout the castle, or the TC, or either of the two remaining docks. Nuking the docks alone would have won him the game most likely.
I think there is alot of things that could of been done differently, would be silly to narrow it down to just 1 thing, but this is why we love LEL, the imperfection which allows for such great games and comebacks that simply aren't possible at other elos. watching and playing just for the fun instead of meticulously learning build orders.
@@markburke1396 even the pros could always have done something better. But in this case, scouting was a singular factor that would have changed the outcome. Lots of other things might have also, but that's an obvious one. Even near the end of the game, he wasn't scouting except with his army. He finally found the TC with his Woads, but he could have made 1 scout or even had 1 woad running around the map. Even using his whole army the way green was would have been better than camping his castles.
I'd say the mistakes were: not walling in or having defenses (I don't think he was aware of Ethiopians unit strength); not destroying the fish eco right away after the base was sacked; too passive and spammed the wrong units after green started his comeback

One of my favorite LEL's was an hour long, 15 minutes he said the game was over, 30 mins he said it was definitely over.

One of my earliest rated games my opponent made an amazing come back. I just couldn't finish him. I think I totally destroyed his base twice, but he managed to hold me off and eventually it became a trash war. He won because his civ had better trash. It felt bad losing after playing for 1.5 hours. But, I was really impressed by his tenacity and ability to just barely survive until turning it around.
That's what it's all about man.
I did this against spanish once. Slowly built enough trash to counter conq+cavalier mass, and started pushing him back w trebs

A Wastland map would be a cool idea, start with some buildings around the map partially destroyed and the map has less resources than normal
Aftermath was somewhat like that and people hated it. I loved it though

T90 sees a bunch of guys called 'shotel warriors' running around dual wielding shotels. "Clearly these guys' parents didn't tell them not to run with uhh, uh, whatever, uh sickles."
Riiight because the average person or aoe2 player is supposed to know what the weapon they carry is called, or that the warriors are named after their weapon somehow.. gotcha

This truly was the game for celt paladin. Not getting the last armor is only really bad against archers losing the 2 pierce armor. But losing 1 melee on a high HP high damage unit in melee combat isn't so bad

I had a game somewhat like this the other day, it was on baltic sea, took 3 hours but I won in the end. Used up about 98% of the wood on the map.

I'm at 13:48 and I'm pretty sure given equal numbers and no castle fire, with similar micro, shotel win. However, game sense tell me that woads win do to eco bonuses and production

I won my first ranked match today. The opponent didn't see it coming. I was on the back foot the whole match defending my base. The Britain's got into my main wood lines and killed off all my choppers and I had to reboom while spamming every resource I had. He surrounded my base with castles and production buildings and somehow I out spammed him and finally got to his eco with hussars for the win. He fought hard but I had transitioned to trash much earlier and I didn't give him time to do so.
This was a great game. I am confused to why Red kept on Knights for so long. I think getting a good number of Scorps would have had a good chance against those Shotels?

some people let their guard down once they get the upper hand. If you hold out long enough you def can sometimes come back after being -2000

Nice game. I suppose ethiopians can do pretty good fast castle build on this cross map, wheres u save gold for castle age, and on the way up u mine stone for castle and second Tc and u can go into shotel raids. Imagine green would actually make trebs while he raided him to death.
What do you think about a quick Ethiopian crossbow attack with thumb ring? Maybe without a dock? Save the wood and go for a quick win🤔
900 low elo games are the best
Pretty sure Red would just clear the field of those pesky Shotel warriors if he just upgraded those Archers or made a bunch CELT Scorpions instead of wasting resources on non-Elite Woad raiders...
As we saw, Red was really good with handling Siege against infantry on that hill at 24:26
