  • In this video I teach you how to make a robust, living worm tea from scratch. Learn what to put in your worm tea for maximum effectiveness. I review what I add to my worm tea and how much of each organic element to add to create an amazing worm tea for your garden. For each element I discuss why I use it in my worm tea and what it adds to enrich the tea for your garden plants. After I make the worm tea, I check the tea after 24 hours have passed and review what is happening in the tea. I then review the tea again after 48 hours have passed. I teach you how much tea use on your plants and how offend to use it for maximum effectiveness.

    Wow! That is turbo charged! With all those additions besides the worm castings is the this the only fertilizer you need on a typical vegetable garden? Great video and explanation of each ingredient.🪱🪱🪱

      Depends on how big your vegetable garden is and if there is enough to go around. If there was enough diluting to a 1 to 4 ratio and you used it every two weeks then yes this would be enough nutrients to supply a vegetable garden. Make sure to add all the amendments to the top of the soil that are left in the tea after brewing.

    Hi! Great video! Have you ever tried to use this solution in hydroponics? I don’t want to use synthetic’s and was wondering if this could be a viable option for my super hot peppers this season! Thanks and keep ‘em comin’!

      @TheWormWhisperer  Před měsícem

      Hi, and thank you for watching. Using worm castings in hydroponics probably isn't a great idea, you could grow the peppers entirely in them and they would do fine. You could keep adding them but they will not work well with salt hydroponic nutrients (as you mentioned) as these nutrients will kill all the life that is in them breaking down the nutrients. They work far better as a supplement but I have never tried it so I can't say for sure.

    Brew bags are nice for big tanks imo. Cleaning out 1500 gallon tanks isn't very fun.

    Great Video! How long will this stay fresh? Do you keep the air active until use? I’ve always been curious with store bought sitting on the shelf. Now that I have a few worm bins producing casting, I’m ready to jump in and make my own.
    Thanks for sharing!

      I like to use it before 48 hours of brewing. I find any longer then that the tea starts to go anerobic (lack of oxygen living things) and starts to not smell as good. It should have a sweet earthy smell to be most effective. I think the stuff in the store is mostly used for plant nutrition, rather then adding life to your soil. The beneficials in the tea, once in the soil help break down the organic elements to produce nutrition for your plants. Reason being that few beneficials could live in the bottle for long. I tend keep the oxygen pumping into the tea for the full 48 hours. Oxygen in the tea is very important.

    Do you have any amounts?

    • @TheWormWhisperer
      @TheWormWhisperer  Před rokem

      Hi Kevin thanks for watching! Sorry, I never bother too much with amounts and organics, I typically just throw in a handful of each when making tea. The reason why I never bother with amounts is because anything extra in the tea that I have added can just be used in the garden, plant pots ext. After using the tea you can just scoop out the extra, or leave it in there and make another tea for your plants! Hope this helped you out with your question.

    How many castings do you add a handfull, a cup, half a cup ?

    • @TheWormWhisperer
      @TheWormWhisperer  Před 2 lety

      Thank you for the question. I normal put in a handful of castings, I would say about one cup. The castings will not burn your plants so you could theoretically add as much as you wanted, but I just use a handy to get the tea going with new life. 👌
