A few weeks ago my wife was buying me new guitar strings she called to verify type and said , and what guitar do you want? I jokingly replied, a Paul Reed Smith single cut, yesterday I got the PRS McCarty Se 594 for my Birthday, lucky me . Saw my first PRS guitar over 25 years ago, fell in love. The wait is over, This guitar is amazing, I can’t be convinced it’s from their lower lineup, it’s flawless finish , sounds fantastic with a variety of tones, looks amazing, don’t hesitate,just get one! PRS SE McCarty 594 rocks
PRS are killing it right now. So many guitars coming out that look awesome from the DGT SE, Semi Hollow SE, Holcomb SE, 594 SE, it's insane. I can only have one so hopefully I will see a few in stores so I dont have to buy without getting my hands on a couple.

I just bought this today!!! Sam Ash closing price and have to say out of all the guitars I ever have played… this does not remind me of the old SE off shore builds from the past. This guitar is so sweet and such a great deal and has the sweetest sounds in all playing you could ever want. I am in love with the pickups as they have this old under wind PAF charm with clarity beyond even in the coil tap modes. I never liked coil tapped PAFs until now!! This guitar is a game changer in all respects. Such a positive thing experience and purchase. I have been playing for 8 hours straight tonight and no fatigue or break…. Just sheer playing and feeling like I found a guitar meant for a lifetime…. This is rare for me. I have to usually change everything…. Now it is just strings….. and that is it period!!! It rings so clear unplugged that when you amplify it…. It has no bad notes. The clarity makes you play better and more of what you hear in your head. Buy one before you miss this deal!!!
I think that we really NEED a Brian Ewald instrumental album! Totally dig this tune and Brian’s playing is absolutely healing! I also must admit that I quickly bought an SE SC McCarty 594 in Faded Blue shortly after watching this video. I have an S2 594 and a mind blowing core 594sc as well. The SE does the others proud and I consider it a fantastic instrument on its own. Inspiring is magnificent at any price point!

@@dsholt the S2 line from the beginning has used the asian pickups and electronics set. one of the cost savings. Frankly not sure there is a grand worth of cost difference in the new SE vs S2 . this is from the PRS website ------- Whether you are looking for authentic humbucking tones or nuanced, sweet single-coil sounds, the S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut can seamlessly master both sonic territories thanks to its 58/15 LT “S” pickups and dual volume and push/pull tone controls.
@@leesamuelson I didn't realize they are now calling all of the 58/15 pickups "LT" now. Definitely tough to see $1000 difference between the two. Though there is a used S2 Lake Blue on Reverb for $1500, so maybe a closer call since that S2 finish is a little cooler looking.
Even the S2 line has a special 10th anniversary spec this year, albeit models are limited in production. So early birds will be able to get all the full fat internals from the core line in a limited run of S2 models. There really appears to be something for everyone this year. Very impressive line up for sure.
Cant wait to test out the Vintage cherry. But if your looking to expand the SE McCarty 594 line up in the future, I think a gold top and/or gold top with P90's would fit in real nice.
Just purchased a 245 three months ago and a Custom 24 about a year ago. Both are SE models. It's an understatement to say I love them and now I got have this one. The only regret I have is that I waited so long to purchase a PRS. I am certain I will dig this model as well.
🤣🤣🤣🤣. Lots of love. I’ve owned/own quite a few PRS guitars ( 2003 Ce 24, se 24 35 th anniversary se 24, and. Silver sky) ! Just make sure to also make a nylon string guitar so I don’t have to play another brand.
The only thing that upsets me is the lack of optional colors you can get these in. Still though I think this is a great addition to the lineup and will definitely be trying this when it comes to my local store

The SE line is excellent, but it's tough to see them pushing $1000 when you can find used S2 guitars for around $1200. The Maryland made S2 custom used to sell for $1399 new.
It is a tough call. Used S2s look to be around $1600 to $1800 right now. You know the fit and finish on those will be perfect, and the actual finishes are slightly cooler looking to me.
Both models have the import pickups in them. It’s seems to me the SE is a better value. I’m not sure what value is gained with the S2 unless the body made in USA is important to you. I guess it doesn’t have a veneer

Man! the specs on these are amazing. I was so stoked about them but I don't know if its this demo or if it's always just been PRS in general, they just sound a little too polite or something compared to Gibsons and Fenders. I've owned many PRS core, S2 and SE over the years and they always end up not getting played by me or my studio clients and I always wonder why. They are stunning and the craftsmanship is impeccable, but the sound...hmmm.
What year did the Les Paul have the 24.594 scale length that the McCarty is based on. Loving my Heritage Cherry Singlecut and so glad I didnt have to pay an insane amount to get that tone.

With the core 594 models there is a definite increase in bass response with the single cut guitars. The single cut guitars are a little bit thicker in the body as well.
Stupid question, but…how much difference is there in tone between the single cut SE and the “double cut”? Same wood and pickups, slightly less mass in the body for the dc, but otherwise the same specs. Maybe a little meatier in this one? I would have loved Bryan to played similar styles in the demos, but the double cut demo is stylistically different.
I was gifted my new PRS SE 594 by my lovely Daughter. I tried slide on it today and It was horrible. Bryan was yours strung with heavyweight strings? It could just be my technique. 👍
I'm used to strats, but I played one of these today and will most likely snag it. One thing that was confusing - hope someone can explain - when I'm in the middle pup selection, how do the volume knobs work? On all the guitars of this model I tried it seems like the volume pots aren't independent of one another.

@@jamesofalo6247someday you will learn that features are options. I used to think only humbuckers were good, or maple fretboards sucks. Turns out every guitar is special in its own way. Gibsons, fenders, prs, all have things that make them what they are. None are better. They are all just different tonal colors. Don’t limit your palette. And some of those things can be upgraded at any time. To me the only thing that matters is that it stays in tune. The rest can be whatever
I've wanted to like the 594 so bad. I liked it. But than I tested it in the guitar store side by side with a normal Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop VOS 60s. The Slim Taper on the Gibson is so much better to play instead of the very very fat and clumsy 594-neck. The PRS has ZERO mojo, literally ZERO. It is such a well build (better than Gibson Custom Shop for sure!) guitar, so versital. Why is PRS making such dump neck and absolut souless Pick Up on this beautiful PRS. Why? The PRS-Pick Ups are so boooooring. Nevertheles. A 594 single cut with a outstanding Fiore neck-shape and some Kloppmann, Amber or Gibson Custombucker would lift this fantastic guitar to holy grail status.

I just bought the PRS SE Singlecut McCarty 594 in vintage sunburst and I love it.
I really want this singlecut version. The blue just looks so nice on it. It’ll be my second blue prs lol
I love the S2 McCarty in Lake Blue and this one gives that a run for it's money, especially since it's same electronics for $1000 less.
