I love how chino moreno since he started deftones had this "thing" for going into deeper soundscapes.
I love their heavy sound but which each release he went deeper and deeper and then team sleep and now palms. One of my fav tracks on the adrenaline album was Fist, the last one and the most trippy one.
If you think about it, ISIS and Deftones went through the phase together, but seperate... early ISIS is visceral and heavy AF- the only element they kept from mosquito control thru wavering radiant was the DRONE element- aside from that they became more atmospheric at almost the same pace as Deftones.
Once again I am left dumbfounded by Chino's music.
I don't know how to say this without seeming like a obsessed fan but my appreciation for his voice, choice in music(both his personal taste of what he listens to and bands he's involved with) keeps growing every day.
I just wish I could tell him this one day, but his music keeps being a positive influence in my life.
A sincere Thank You Chino, for the feelings your music give me.

@Digital Minerva, I always felt the same. I was so SO fortunate enough to see them live last year. I was front row and shared the mic with Chino for Knif Party. I felt it was destined.. as much as Deftones has been my favorite group for years, Chinos voice has pulled me from some deep voids in my life. I wish I could have told him then. Still always will be honored to have shared a mic for 8 seconds
It`s not even chino`s Music it`s mostly the other 3 guys who formed the band after Isis ended,chino joined later & he is the perfect fit

What a great players! The talented drummer who mixed and mastered this album! This bassist who knows what fa fuck is going on! And this amazing guitarist who can make heaven come at me while playing. Chino is a great vocalist also! But don’t forget these members!

Why do people always try to compare stuff to other bands, TOOL is my fav band & this sounds nothing like them, STOP always trying to COMPARE & just appreciate the project for what it is !!!
You and me both. I love all of Chino's music.
Tool aren't even an original sound, hence why its stupid to compare them to so many other metal and prog rock bands. Don't get me wrong though this still doesn't make any piece of music identical to tool as nothing can replicate the original inspiration that sets a unique idea apart from another. That is what distinguishes art in its own style! You can't summarize that through words, nor can you compare. You can just guess.
Same here. Tool is my favorite. People always mention Tool but there are so many bands that "sound like Tool" but also did it before them. Tool is very unique, don't get me wrong but the overall vibe people use for comparison is found elsewhere too. It's all perspectives and opinions.

All these people comparing the fact that this sounds like Tool because Chino worked with Maynard, bro; the band section is ex members from ISIS, one of Tool’s favourite tour buddies, AND the drummer, Aaron Harris, is Danny’s long time drum tech, they’re all a part of the same scene...

Chino is so versatile, I love him, he makes everything so gooodd. I feel dying when I hear his voice, and the instrumental that surround him are always so electric and perfect, they complement it beautifully. It's like dying and being born again.

Well damn, Thank god I searched for more Post Rock and Post Metal which led me to find out about this. Chino's voice is fitting for this kind of music fo sure. Oh man I'm so glad I went on a Post Rock and Post Metal search which led me ro find many songs to add to my playlist including this band's songs.

Agreed, I think Chino may be the most versatile vocalist of all time. He can float on soft octaves forever and then drop the most amazing screams ever produced. Ironically, when the Deftones formed, they established their name because it was thought Chino was tone deaf.?
