  • The Boys are here to talk all things USMNT after their disgraceful 5-1 loss to Colombia with the pressure mounting on Gregg Berhalter to turn around the fortunes with Brazil up next. Ream, Jedi Robinson, Weah, and Turner all turn in bad performances amongst many others which begs the questions, Berhalter Out?? Pulisic, Gio Reyna, and Balogun misused and we won't take it any longer!

    The USMNT has made zero progress other than better individual talent under Berhalter, time for him to go

    • @FootyWithTheBoys

      Any chance we are overhyping the talent though? Its not like we have ever had an actual competent manager or federation, and we have been able to pull out results punching above our weight class in the past. Idk, I am just starting to get fed up with this “golden generation”

    You guys are a little to hard on USMNT … you guys played a candidate to win the Copa America. You guys will have a easier time with Brazil who I feel are over inflated as a team. As individual players different thing. Colombia played with half of their players from the local leagues (granted top teams from South America). It’s about team play not individuals. Did Luis Diaz score ? No but its sum of all the parts.

    • @FootyWithTheBoys
      @FootyWithTheBoys  Před 9 dny +2

      Your point about team play is dead on, and Colombia is certainly a serious contender. That being said, the collective product that the USMNT delivers is well below their potential. It is one thing to lose against a strong opponent, it’s another to get utterly demolished and embarrassed on home turf

  • @kristi4113
    @kristi4113 Před 7 dny +2

    BJ Callahan is sitting on the bench with the assistants. He’s RIGHT there, and we already know what he can do with this group. The guys might still lose to Colombia with him, but they could have looked more alive and frisky. GGG is killing us, and refuses to admit it.

    • @FootyWithTheBoys
      @FootyWithTheBoys  Před 7 dny +1

      The biggest thing Callahan did is allow the boys to play freely, which is why he is so unimportant as an assistant under gregggggg that has a million tactics to just spam crosses

      @@FootyWithTheBoys I keep wondering how long it will be before Balo stops accepting call-ups. We wanted him so bad, Hudson convinced him to pick our country and under GGG he’s been useless. Useless as in he has zero chances to get a toe on the ball because CROSSES.

      Dont see a lot of the boys playing for their country, need captain adams back in the set up

  • @TheCheeseBaron
    @TheCheeseBaron Před 7 dny +1

    Other things on GGGs resume: barely qualifying for the last WC, many games vs CONCACAF minnows with 1 or 0 shots on goal in the whole game, needing an own goal from a weakened Jamaica to save the game for them, creating a comfort zone for players as the buddy type manager that allowed the fire to go out in the team and more. We shouldn’t forget these things. He’s a mediocre manager at very best. So mediocre results match his level

    I'm American and played here in the US and abroad, my time has passed but the overall skill level of players here is getting better and improving every year. Columbia is a great team with a solid record going into the match. One of the bigger issues I see with our boys is creativity - everyone is flat, no inspiring plays, it's all mr roboto out there especially with our mid. Our defense is also poor and been an problem we haven't solved for years, incredibly weak.
    All that said, it's another great learning opportunity and maybe they should approach every game like they're playing Mexico!

    • @FootyWithTheBoys
      @FootyWithTheBoys  Před 8 dny +1

      Dont you think that Gregggg just telling them to wait for an opportunity to cross is something that hinders their creativity? I think you are right that some players need to be more brave and take people on, but the system in which they are playing doesn’t leave much room for that

    Agree, terrible coach but also lack of mentality from players. if the coach is nuts the players specially the most experienced ones must to fix the game on the field and lead the group to talk to the coach. And that doen´t happens because the american players are too disciplined and obedients, it´s good for the war but when the titanic is sinking and your boss wants you play the violin.........

    • @FootyWithTheBoys

      Players deserve blame, especially for publicly backing him. But also this a young group with their only true leader being tyler adams who isnt playing due to injury. Tim Ream has the experience but he is also a massive liability right now so who is gonna listen to him?

  • @user-rh7ri3lc2p
    @user-rh7ri3lc2p Před 7 dny

    Also, the best team must have at least competent players. It does not have to have the best players. A great team is always better than the sum of its parts. A great manager molds competent players into a team by bringing out the best qualities of those competent players.

    The only place Pulisic can play is on the point. The more mates he has between him and the goal, the more confused he becomes. His job should match his skillset and instincts: Put the all down and snake whomever is in front of him, then shoot.
