- Introducing the incomparable Sonja Morgan. She is best known for her starring role on The Real Housewives of New York, as well as being my houseguest with a knack for breaking things. Her raw sense of humor and realness have stolen the hearts of many, and she truly is the gift that keeps on giving. In this interview, Sonja and I discuss some things that she has rarely, if ever, spoken about publicly. From marriage to Only Fans, and even growing up in a religious home! I hope you enjoy getting to know different parts of Ms. Sonja Morgan!
An interview with solo Sonja was long overdue, thanks for doing this. She's such a charmer and sadly undervalued as a friend, (imo). Was so happy to see Eboni lift her up. She's really so sweet, humble and entertaining. We love you SM. Wishing you your hearts desires.

We'd discount a person at an event as pretentious & obnoxious if they came on like that, but it's cute on TV?

@@lahaza6515 For anyone in that world it's easy to get sucked in. If you haven't been there you wouldn't know. Anyhow, my point IS, out of most of the ladies Sonja is the sweetest. If you disagree, good for you, but I said what I said. And we've both said enough, it's not that deep in the grand scheme.

I too was a girl about town in 90s NYC.
There were quite a few adventurous young women who were part of the scene at that time.

I really don't feel good about judging, but she really does lay it on very thickly.
I think it's how unbelievably impressed she is with wealth that gets under my skin.
I don't knock her for having been an opportunist, but claiming other peoples achievements is hard to stomach.
I miss Bethenny who smelled pretension from a mile away.

The biggest question is, is that a good thing.
Sonja and Bethany are my favorite NY Housewives. They are polar opposites but in my opinion are the most entertaining Housewives in that franchises.

@@LOL-ps3tg She's a monster. The epitome of how money reveals character. Her before and after Skinny Girl success, is its own lesson. She's a bully.
Truth is, love or hate her Bethany made the show. Reality TV gold. Ratings show as much. She could name her price if she wanted to come back. Andy is courting her again and I'm sure there are huge numbers associated with that, but i'm not sure she cares anymore. She's not suffering from a lack of cash as most of them are.
@@unaninanine3743 I disagree with your assessment of her. I don't think her ambition makes her a monster. If anything it made her a savvy ass businesswoman. she was smart enough to use the show as a platform, using notoriety from the show to establish herself, she turned her name into a brand and capitalize on that because let is honest the show exploits these women for entertainment so why shouldn't she do the same to bravo. If she were a man people wouldn't bat an eye at her assertive approach but as a woman, she's called out for it. It's total BS. And as far as her being a bully maybe we didn't watch the same episodes Because I recall her being honest and supportive to her friends. yeah, she didn't hold her punches when it came to her options but that is her character. she called out BS when she saw it. She didn't strike me as fictitious or pretentious unlike the other women in my opinion. She was open about her struggles and was one of the few women on the show who donate to the last disaster relief fund to Puerto Rico when all the other housewives were going on with their lives as if they were oblivious to what was going on in the world. Not the type of behavior you would expect from a self-centered, monster.
Great interview per usual, Josh. Sonja is a smart cookie; notice how she glosses over her divorce. She'll protect her daughter no matter what.
I love Josh and miss his grandma when she used to be on the Million dollar La .I know he misses her dearly She was such a sweet woman

I met her at a couple of times at bistro i frequented at the time in the early 2000's in midtown Manhattan. Long before her Real housewives days. It took me a minute to figure out when i first saw her on the show, oh wait minute I've met her. She was always fun to talk to as we were sipping cocktails and her trying to hook me up with the hot guy on the other end of bar..lol. Casual breezy just enjoying ourselves.
--Soooo well "intentioned," and her psychiatrists, too.
Wonderful watching her BREAK the mirror with her shoe heels in that one episode at a party of all Housewives and husband's and friends at midtown Manhattan.

"My family started with the nail company hundreds of years ago. Massachusetts. Then they went into lumber, chicken feed, paint. Sapele and paint. Anderson windows and doors. My father had a golf course and he would BUILD estates, you know suburban areas, rural areas. He would build houses. They also did the Blockbuster tapes - that chain. Then everyone went to dvd. The golf course didn’t do well, but the lumber yard still does very well. And we race stock cars. We have 3 stock cars."

I love Sonja - you can tell she is naturally a kind person. She is the backbone of her franchise - she rarely has a bad scene on the show since she 1st came on as a "friend".

She’s not directly malicious but she has her moments of being horrible to others and she’s also a sheep. She was okay with Dorinda Bullying Tinsley only because it was no longer being directed at her. She was okay with Bethenny’s bad treatment of LuAnn only because she’s scared of Bethenny. She’s threw her friend Ramona under the bus several times and she was in the middle of a lot of drama especially when she was drunk. She’s not the worst but not the best either

Thank you Josh for this interview. I remember being so impressed with Sonja on Scary Island. She was the voice of reason and led the others to stop arguing. It is so nice that Eboni recognizes Sonja’s worth this season.

I think it would be really hard to be a part of that powerful family, and not let it become a part of your identity.
Well said..but it is sad. I don’t think she’s aware of how much she lives in the past..it prevents her from moving on and having a life of real substance and not what was..she really has a sweet soul but just still seems lost after all these years.
I enjoyed this thoroughly and I learned so much about Sonja. I am a fan of the show, but Sonja has never talked about any of this stuff! It is so interesting and I for one realized very early on that Sonja was a smart cookie. It was always very evident too that she is a very good soul. I relate to her being a bit of a loner too and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. All it means is that we like our own company a lot. 😊 Well, I am so happy I came across this interview and thank you both.

Great interview! Sonja has a heart of gold and the fact that her daughter is not a public persona says a lot about what kind of mother she is. With Sonja I feel like there is a lot that she wants to say about her past that she can't, so it comes out as 'holding on to the past'.

I don’t say this lightly but SONJA MORGAN IS A NATIONAL TREASURE & I wish everyone would treat her like Josh does. Sending Sonja much much love & respect from Maryland.
I like Sonja but some of her answers did not make total sense ....like she was going thru a divorce before the show.... but she said she would still be married if not for the show...but yet they had to divorce for other factors....that whole divorce thing is still very confusing. I dont get it.

I think she is making up a story to protect her imagine, when in reality i think her husband sadly left her for her friend because Sonja let “money get to her head” and wasn’t around doting on him anymore. They were definitely divorced before the show :/
