Man.. I met George Duke at a jazz Clinic on my 21st bday. He showed me a 7-3-6 progression that was light years ahead of my music brain at the time. He was so nice and down to earth. RIP GD!! at true gift.

I had the great honor to chat with George about a year ago @ BB Kings. I told him what a hero he'd been for me. He was very humble and said, 'I'm just a piano player...' No way, man!
One of the very creative best musicians
I'm just finding out about George...Damn, got to meet him back in 09, the day before I underwent serious treatment. What a wonderful, soulful person. We hung out, talked and took pictures. I'm going to miss him dearly. R.I.P. you are the best at what you do George. We've lost a true treasure.

Great interview and insight with one of the master's of music.
One of the true greats! Unmeasurable contribution to music and life.
He is one of my absolute favorites
He notes that there’s a paucity of melody in many contemporary songs, and boy is he right.
“What are you gonna remember 30 years down years down the line, a beat?”
Listen to what people are blasting on the audio systems in their cars, or listen to what they’re playing on the sound system at the gym.

Such a kind soul and an amazing musician. I first got introduced to him from watching a live performance of Inca Roads by Frank Zappa. He has such a beautiful voice.

02:41 RIP Brother
Feel robbed :(
It's a little weird/Cosmic to hear him talk about his BUCKET LIST.
Nobody really knew that he was sick. The weight loss wasn't from a diet, sad to say
I remember when I first saw that Dreamweavers album cover. I knew something wasn't right. He didn't look like the George Duke I grew up seeing.
I hear you...he looks so frail...
