    No Elastic Bonnet for natural hair.
    Hey everyone! I know everyone has been doing this tutorial. Since I am just starting up with my channel I wanted to do one of my own.
    For this tutorial you will be needing:
    * 2 different types of satin fabric measuring
    * Material marker
    * Tape measure
    Benefits of Satin Bonnets
    Don’t you wish there was a way you could wake up in the morning and have perfect hair? no tangles and no dryness! . Ever since I started sleeping on satin, my hair has been healthier and happier! So, why is wearing satin so great?
    1. Healthier Hair
    Say goodbye to split ends! Sleeping with a satin cap means no more split ends. It protects your hair from the dryness caused by friction between your hair and moisture-absorbing materials such as cotton. This also helps to greatly reduce breakage, tangles, and thinning.
    2. Better Looking Hair
    If you have curly or wavy hair, you know that sleep can cause a serious mess! Sleeping on satin helps keep the curls’ shape and style without causing kinks and bumps. It also keeps hair from getting frizzy and poofy.
    3. Hydrated Hair
    Yep, satin even helps keep your hair hydrated! Sleeping on cotton is known to dry out your hair from root to tips, satin helps keep it fresh.
    4. No-Headache Hair
    Sleep with your hair in a ponytail? If you don’t want to, you don’t have to. The cap keeps your hair pulled back and doesn’t cause the headaches you can get from tight ponytails and buns.
    5. Ready to Go Hair

    Thanks for the video the bonnet looks fabulous 👍🏾
    What is your tension set on through out the rest of the project? I understand the highest tension is used to gather the fabric on the perimeter of the bonnet.
    But what tension should I use for the remainder? Also should I use the long straight stitch pattern the whole time?

    • @itssaneD
      @itssaneD  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Muffie thank you so much for clicking on this video and supporting me.
      So the highest tension is to make the gatherings and when you are done with the gathers set the tension back to 3 or 4.
      The stitch just would depend on how long you want it. But for the gathers make sure you have the longest stitch.
      I hope my explanation is a bit clear.

    Awesome tutorial, thanks!
    How much smaller do you think I could make it for a Caucasian 7 yo? My daughter HATES brushing her hair, I want something for her for when she’s sleeping to cut down on tangles. Obviously this is way bigger than she would need, both because she’s a kid and because her hair has no volume
    Also, a quick tip: try starching the satin before you sew with it. It’ll feel corse and papery, but the starch will wash out in a few washes. Starched satin handles like quilters cotton, it presses nicely and doesn’t slip all over. Sooooo much nicer to work with

      @itssaneD  Před rokem +2

      Hey Happy Bubble,
      Thank you for watching.
      So the hole or arch at the back of the bonnets it's so that you can easily put it on around the head because you wouldn't have an elastic for it to stretch around your head.
      The hole does not have to be big too. I hope I answered the question.

      Hey Sandisiwe
      It’s just a style so that it’s easy for the head to easily slip into the bonnet and be able to tie properly.
      Your opening does not be as big as mine or you don’t necessarily have to have an opening. However as long as you are able to get your head into the bonnet and be able to tie your bonnet.
      I hope I answered your question.

      So with this method of gathering you don't have to do any gathering the sewing machine does all the work for you. The 9icnh is the highest number on my sewing machine. I am not sure whats the highest number on yours. Then set the longest stich. The gatherings would happen on their own. Please try it and let me know the outcome.

      Hey Dink baby 🤗
      For this tutorial I connected two strips of fabric together 5" by 41" (joined together made 5"x82")... But I would not advise that you join the two anymore 🙈 because after some time the sticth may rip off which has happened for one of my clients.
      So I would recommend if you have a 2yards (Which is 72inches) fabric to cut it along the two yards and don't join it. So the measurements for the tie would be 5" x 72" so that you have the long ties.
      I hope my explanation makes sense.

      @@dinkbaby9563 I am so sorry I was not clear on the tutorial. I will try and make another clear one.
      However if you look closely after 05:59 into the video the belt is joined together. I know it's hard to see. 🙈

      @itssaneD  Před 2 lety

      Hey Darienne, thank you for watching the video 🤗🤗
      I just quickly googled your machine and the length of your stich should be 4 (that is by the wheel)
      The tension on top has to be the highest number.
      I hope that works. Please keep me updated if that works or if everything made sense.

    Just a couple suggestions. Please use a colored pen to mark on the satin. The chalk isn’t showing. Also it bothers me that you place the iron face down when you are not using it….it should be stood on its end. Thx.

      For the iron it wasn’t face down I think it must have been the angel of the shot.
