  • Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, introduced the 'Panch Pran' or five pledges in his Independence Day speech in 2022, urging citizens to adopt them to make India a developed nation by 2047, the centenary of its Independence. The five pledges are: a resolve of developed India, removing any trace of colonial mindset, taking pride in legacy, strengthening unity, and fulfilling duties with honesty. In December 2023, the Indian government launched the 'Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth' initiative, aimed at engaging the country's youth in the formulation of national plans, priorities, and goals for making India a developed nation by 2047. This initiative will provide a platform for the youth to contribute ideas towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, which encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance. The workshops under this initiative will help initiate the process of engaging youth to share their ideas and suggestions for the vision of a developed India by 2047.
