As a person who doesn't listen to rap, I can't keep up. It's not exsclusive to rap either if the song is too fast for me, I won't comprehend it. But you seemed to enjoy it and I liked your reaction.
I totally understand what you mean. the process of "hear a line, process it, enjoy it, listen for the next" isn't as automatic as people would think. it gets a little easier after being exposed to the genre more, but it still requires a lot of attention.
this rapper in particular really rewards people for listening to each line, he doesn't get lazy with his writing at all
