Sean, it brought tears to my eyes to see the Rhondda valleys, we played that music at my mum's funeral as she was born there. My grandfather and great grandfather both worked in the coal mines. Such hard times for them. My mum used to walk across the mountains to visit her grandmother, all by herself she was only little. She always talked about her time there and the awful move to Surrey for my grandad to find work when the mines shut down, she didn't want to leave. Thankyou so much for this video and I wish you all the best for your move back to your home.
If we all sent 10p a month that would be 4k surely we can do something to support him... His content is brilliant and so comforting and nostalgic
There is so much I could show you with a regular income from this. Plenty of places to visit and build on a new allotment. We can but dream.
Wales is undoubtedly one of the best parts of the UK - especially now that the scars of coal mining have been eliminated (and its history preserved). My grandfather served 46 years as a coal miner, retiring on a pension of £4.00 per month back in the late '60's. He also had a lasting memento of those years of service through the 20's, WW 2, into the late '60's of pneumoconiosis (CWP), commonly known as "black lung disease". I'm happy to see that industrial South Wales is gradually returning to its former pristine rurality - where (red - native) squirrels would not need to come down from the trees between the valleys and the outskirts of the lowlands around what is now Cardiff.
Okay… the tears flowed when you showered your beautiful Valleys and played that beautiful music. And I said to myself… he’s home!
Dale from Canada!
My late husband was from Wales but was sent away to a boarding school in England and never made it back there. We'd always planned to rent a camper and drive through Wales but his health didn't permit that. He used to cry when he heard the Welsh national anthem, and most anything Welsh. I once found a record album of Dylan reading some i of his works. When I gave Brynn this for Christmas, he cried and immediately called his brother to tell him about the " most amazing" gift he'd recieved. Wales does seem to have a strong pull on the heart. I still hope to be able to go there some day.
Welcome Home Sean. You dont appreciate home until you've been away. You captured the welsh valleys in a glorious way. We are very lucky to have our mountains as backdrops. Danny 🌱
Amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Even though I am English, Wales is a very special place to me for many reasons. Thank you Sean for sharing your day
Coming home is wonderful when that means Wales 🏴.
Great bit of filming & it must feel fantastic for you seeing the Valleys through your own lens.
We have not only the best flag in the world but also the best national anthem.
❤🏴❤
Hello from across the pond. As you know many Americans are mongrels, an ethnically mixed lot so I ended up Welsh, Irish and German and I know so little about my ancestry and anyone who could tell me about it has passed on. What I do now is that my great grandfather emigrated from a town not far Rhonda called Bridgend, the family name is Davies which I understand is quite common in Wales and fairly common here as well. He met his wife onboard the ship coming to America, they were married somewhere in between and upon arriving in the US made their way to the coal fields of Pennsylvania. In their later years they lived in New York city. My dad was a New York native and moved here to Massachusetts after WWII. He spent some time in England during the war but circumstances were that he could not travel to visit Wales. I enjoyed your video very much, Wales looks so beautiful and looks a little like some places here in New England. Thank You
The old home town looks the same,as I step down from the bus…🤗
It is amazing to see the absolute beauty of the Rhondda It is over 10 years since I left London, after over 28 years of living and working. It was the best thing I ever did going back home to Cornwall. I should have done it much sooner. Love your videos Sean.🙂🙂.
Brought a lump to my throat when the music started. I live in South Wales and I am looking forward to your future videos. Like you said in previous video sometimes you don't realise whats on your doorstep. You have so much to look forward too hope move goes well.
Beautiful, Sean. Thanks for taking us along. I live in a rural area similar to Wales, but we have bears, cougars and coyotes. Good luck with your decision.
Welcome home Sean. .sorry about the rain but as you must know ..that's why our grass is so green ❤
Beautiful video!!! I can imagine you settling there......and, in anticipation, enjoying the videos of that beautiful country. I hope it all works out for you, lad 👍👍👍
Lovely trip down memory lane for me, my son used to teach music in schools in the Rhondda Valley and he took me for a trip all around the towns and up into the mountains, a wonderful day I will remember for ever. I hope you get your dream to move back.
As mentioned before my wife had some years as a child in Treherbert . She shed a tear watching your video. We last visit the place in 2009. We could hear the pride and joy in your voice as you walked around. You seemed like you had come home. Wish you all the best with your plans.
Wow - it’s really beautiful, thanks for taking us along, your heart must be singing and you must feel content ❤
Thank you from Tasmania for taking my heart and soul on a journey to my homeland with you
Fantastic video Sean, you look so happy and upbeat. We can't wait for your new adventure in Wales. Good luck.
It’s not the leaving of Sydenham that grieves me, but my darling when I think of tea 🎶
Well Sean was was watching contentedly then the Anthem started I truly got goose bumps all over, even without the Treorchy male voice choir singing with it. I'm in Denbighshire but my my roots are in Corris near Dollgellau the pull of the hills never goes away I hope you find your perfect place good luck to you
Thanks for taking us along. I enjoyed the visuals of the trip, and the journey via the not quite ever working ideally public transport 🙂 Nice drone view of the town, and the winter countryside feel. Looking forward to seeing it looking completely different in spring and summer. Hope the job/involvement opportunity is a good one and works out. The disused allotment site was indeed very interesting.. maybe they rest it fallow over the colder months.
WOW! The kind of place I only see in TV shows from across the pond. Honestly, I would never have left!
Fantastic Sean, really really enjoyed that! Beautiful music! Reminds me of going to Wales on holiday every year with my mum and dad. Bootiful 😊
I’m happy I found your channel today. I spent the first 20 years of my life trying to get off of the mountain I grew up on, then the next 23 trying to get back. I will never leave again, so I certainly understand your motivation. I love the mountains (Appalachian Mountains in the US) so much. Wales reminds me of home. I will enjoy following your journey.
Just thinking how beautiful it is and how much more beautiful it will be in the spring and summer ❤
Welcome home Sean
My daughter and I took a day trip to Stonehenge from Victoria station.
I bet you slept well Sean can't beat the Welsh air
wow! what a beautiful land! I'm home sick with Covid and this journey was a lovely diversion. Perhaps once you are established you might consider organizing tour groups. who knows? I might consider joining in person from across the pond. Thanks so much. Georgia, USA
I bet it made your heart sing seeing all those mountains and forestry. ❤
I can’t wait for you to get moved. I will love to see the Wales countryside. I wish you all the luck and happiness in your journeys.

How lovely Sean. I hope your dream becomes a reality very soon xx what a lovely place to be.
That reminds me , of my drive from Oxford back to Pembrokeshire , those huge hills on my right , how did you feel ? That you were back were back home ❤❤❤
I'm so glad that you're getting out of London...it's turning into a hellish place to live. And how could you not return to such a beautiful place? Good luck with your exciting plans.
For we foreigners watching, including a map with lines of where you're traveling would be appreciated. Fun trip! My ancestors are from Wales and I've always wanted to visit.
That would be great but for the level of return I get from the level of work I put into them at the moment is very small so I can't spend anymore time on them. The names of the places are onscreen though if you wanted to do your own research.
So very beautiful! Im happy for you. 🥰
Wow,, beautiful scenery ,,
Looks amazing Sean!
The country side looks a lot the hills and valleys here in southern appalachia😍
Silence and the fresh air beautiful you're going back home.

Hello...I am just finding your channel, so playing catch-up. Finding the videos I have watched very enjoyable, thank you
Best move you made ,!

Welcome home to wales
The stone facades are fantastic! And the silence of course. Are the Rhondda Valley's coal country? One can only imagine the history in that cemetery you passed as well...
I thought that there was a train up the Rhondda there is up to cynon valley to Mountain Ash and Aberdare and to Merthyr Tydfil from Abercynon, nice to hear the Welsh National anthem welcomin you have again to Wales where we keep a welcome in the hillside.
Looks different to Croydon
I have been watching your videos, Sean for about ten years now, and I have to say this was one of, if not the most enjoyable videos to date .... I really hope it works out for you !
So excited
Hello from Aberdare ❤ should meet up with Danny from The grapevine Garden.
Lovely to see you in Wales, hope the move goes well. Did you like the house you viewed or are you going to keep looking?
Great video...hope everything works out well for you! The views are amazing...you will certainly feel at home xx
Oh Sean, what a glorious place to go ....and to live there....heaven!

The silence is lovely 🥰One thing I can't get over when I go back to South East London is the constant sirens. I heard a few during wild fire season here in Portugal and that was it!!
Good to see my old home town, Sean. Hope you found what you are looking for.
Croeso nol i Gymru. Hello from the Swansea Valley.
Youll be asking yourself why you never made the move sooner, im sure.
Just lovely. I’m looking forward to learning more about Wales.
Beautiful!! Just a technical question for you. Are some of those shots done with a drone? I'm trying to get back into photography. I used to develop my own black and white prints in my basement 40 years ago, so digital photography is still kinda above me.
You do a wonderful job on your videos. Can't wait for more of Wales!
The drone is DJI Mini 3 and it is wonderful; the handheld camera is DJI Pocket 2.
Absolutely stunning valley. Thanks for the view.
Absolutely breath taking ❤
Wonderful video Sean. Do you have a driving license? So easier for commuting that distance.😊
Even the views from the bus look great.
Interesting Sean . Could see you going up and down the hills on a electric bike.
Wat is het mooi in Wales krijg je dan ook moestuin
They have done Victoria coach station since I was last there! Looked a right horrible place when I was last there, much better now!
You must be so tired after all this travelling! Thanks again for the effort you put into your brilliant videos!
Beautiful mate
What a lovely place, I hope you do go back..
Such a beautiful place, if only all your subscribers could give you £3 each what a difference that would mean maybe you could buy a house..😊
It would certainly give me the freedom and finances to travel around and dedicate far more time to the channel which is something I’d love to do.
