    I have this charger. On page 3 of the manual, it says "When "mAh", always-on, mAh means the batteries capacity." For me, even when the display says FULL, the mAh indicator is always flashing (it is never always-on), so I think it is always showing accumulated mAh. Is there a way to get the mAh indicator to not flash and to show the total mAh capacity of the battery? The manual hints that this is possible (see above quote), but doesn't say how.

    • @Lightsngear
      @Lightsngear  Před 4 lety

      Not to my knowledge. It doesn't have a "test" or "refresh" mode which measures total capacity through a discharge/charge cycle. Instead (as you stated) it will display only accumulated capacity which toggles with the other values.

    I watched all your reviews for the 8 bay chargers I was looking at. The MiBoxer C8, the Xtar VC8, and the Gyrfalcon All-88. Between these do you have a "best"? and if so why? For me charge speed is not terribly important as I tend to want max life of the cells, and I think having a grade mode is very nice so I can test some older cells and see if they need to be tossed.
    The All-88 was more expensive by a good margin ($55) while the other two are about $40.

    • @Lightsngear
      @Lightsngear  Před 3 lety

      If you want one that grades, then you'll need the XTAR! Playing favorites, I like the MiBoxer & XTAR equally, but the C8 doesn't grade. Also keep in mind the VC8 needs the XTAR plug adaptor (with the USB-C) connection to work.

      @@Lightsngear Thanks, I am an over achiever I ended up getting all 3. I like the large slots on the All-88 for charging 18650's and the other two both have a place.

      @@Lightsngear it's been a year and I'm interested in your thoughts of which charger out of the XTAR and miBoxer you like the most? and why, you mention the advantage of the XTAR over the MiBoxer (grading) but what advantages does the MiBoxer have, thankyou

    • @Lightsngear
      @Lightsngear  Před rokem

      @@percy9228Thanks for the question, but I can't actually say that the MiBoxer has any particular advantage over the Xtar. Aside from the features of the Xtar, they both work well. It's just convenient to have more than one charger sometimes due to battery inconsistencies and unforeseen charging glitches that might happen from time to time.

    Hi how long will to charge 8 AA 2300mah rechargable battery ? This charger have refreshing, discharge and test option ? Thank you

    • @Lightsngear
      @Lightsngear  Před 3 lety

      There is no possible way to know ahead of time how long it would take to charge 8 batteries. Obviously the more cells you put in at once, the longer it will take, since the current will be divided up. It also depends on other factors as to how MUCH current each battery receives.
      And no, this unit does not refresh, discharge, or test. The XTAR VC8 has more of those features.

  • @felonebike9859
    @felonebike9859 Před 3 lety

    I read that with the power off it'll discharge? Is this true? Also how can I get it to do a full capacity test? Like if the battery already has a 90% charge it'll only tell you how much capacity it takes from 90% charge to 100%.

    • @Lightsngear
      @Lightsngear  Před 3 lety +1

      I don't know what you mean by discharging with the power off? And yes since this charger does not offer a "test" cycle, you would basically need to charge a DISCHARGED battery (although that's often not an accurate means of measurement).

    • @Lightsngear
      @Lightsngear  Před 4 lety +1

      It's going to vary, per battery, and depending on how many are being charged at once. Example; I placed 2 AAA in at once. One gets 0.25, the other gets 0.35!

      I've been very pleased with all the MiBoxer chargers I've used. Functionally speaking, the 4-bay and 8-bay are pretty much the same. One difference on the C4-12 (for example) is that the slots are much deeper, allowing for a more secure fit of larger batteries. Thanks for the question!
