- What is psychotherapy integration, and how does it relate to eclecticism and pluralism? In this short video, I discuss the four main forms of psychotherapy integration: theoretical integration, assimilative integration, common factors, and eclecticism; and their relationship to pluralistic philosophy and practice.
The video is aimed at integrative and pluralistic trainees and therapists, as well as counsellors and psychotherapists of other orientations. It should help you develop your understanding of integrative, eclectic, and pluralistic approaches, and how they related to your own practice. This may of value for supervision, assessment, and accreditation purposes; as well as for your own reflection and development as a therapist. - Zábava
I am a Year One Bsc Counselling & Psychotherapy student - I found this video very helpful in breaking down and clearly looking at integrative - the book recommended is a great suggestion, thank you 🙏🏻
Very interesting Mick, thank you for posting.
Thank you Dr Cooper. You're doing a lot of help. I'll take time to listen to this again
Great lecture, Mick! Lots of food for thought and very easy to understand too. Thank you! :)
thank you very much for this lecture. I was struggling to find literature around integrative counselling, and this gave me a base understanding of integration. By the way, I loved the recommended book.
This explains very clearly. I've really benefited.. Thanks
Great video!
Very comprehensive and thought provoking - took me an hour to watch as kept stopping to make notes! This has helped me to take another look at my approach and how it might be best described. I particularly enjoyed the Pluralistic philosophy and practice distinction and have experienced the value in shared decision making in my practice. Thank you Mick.
Thanks for this. Gave me a help-out for my essay.
Awesomely helpful

Excellent Mick, hope you won't mind me sharing with students

Would integrating DBT and Schema-Focused Therapy together in the treatment of BPD be considered technical eclecticism or assimilative integration?
