When I was 14 I had a motorcycle accident that left me a t-4 para. I was told I might live 10 years. So you can imagine I tried to cram as much living as I could into those years. That included building a race truck that was also my everyday truck. I made everyone believe I was on top of the world. When I was alone and life kicked in I would listen to this song and get the strength to face another day. 38 years later I am still here by God's grace and still listening to this song. Thank you ZZ Top for the music. You pulled me through some dark nights and thoughts.
Benny Evans awesome story.. I’m 28 and a recovering addict. This song and many others also helped me through some rough times.. nothing that compares to what you’ve been through though. This song is criminally underrated
As a disabled amputee myself, I understand. I was a cop for 11+ years, and had to give that career up due to a blood disorder. God was right by my side, helping me too, as was my wife. I also listened to a lot of inspiring music like this song...Thanks ZZ....

I heard this song in a playlist but I didn't know what band it is. An amazing realization that this is from ZZ Top. I knew about them but never cared much. Thought they are way too old. Back in the days of Vice City we had all those rock/metal songs from which I quickly recognized that they were big deals but it was only later that I found out about the artists like Ozzy, Slayer and Iron Maiden. It is awesome to hear music where the identification can't immediately hit in.
