    I like to use these to encourage deep root growth for my plants. I usually put them all the way to the bulb and water the plant till the soil is saturated and that usually gets the roots growing after planting, then as the soil dries out the roots chase the moisture deeper to the depth where i put the bulb, and thus far, my potted plants love it

    It works great with potted citrus trees that like damp but not soggy soil. I need three for the size of my tree until I can get it established.

    Can also fill them by submerging them in water. Probably less tedious than using the faucet.

    Is there a list somewhere that has all the plants these are good for? I've been looking but I can't find any. I have several different plants that all require different frequencies of being watered and I don't know which ones these would be useful for.

    I saw reviews online of some people saying it would immediately drain the whole thing when they put it in and others said that would happen unless they put it in correctly… what’s correctly? I’m going on a 2 week trip and buying them as backup for the pet sitter who will also be caring for them intermittently

    • @MousetrapGenius
      @MousetrapGenius  Před 2 lety +3

      If the soil is too loosely packed it may drain too quickly. If the orb is firmly seated in the soil it should not drain immediately. It took a bit of practice for me to find the right balance.

    Ok but how the hell do you fill 30 at a time without it being a painstaking process involving a trickle from the sink or a syringe. I wanted to fill mine with miracle grow fertilizer mixture. I used a galles jug and sheer will- and it took a full 30 mins to fill them. I had to pour it over a bug bowl and siphon the water back into the hub several times. Help.

      Same question. I’m thinking my succulents may prefer top watering & being flooded. They don’t seem to care too much for bottom watering. I read/hear they like for their soil to drain water so idk about the stake
