      +OThebossman H - My heart and prayers are with you. Living in the Sierra's we never know when we'll be next. To the rest of most of you: *We had a VERY wet winter here in CA. after years of drought! Vegetation grew where it normally grew every spring. When the hot summer dried the vegetation, there was a LOT of fuel for fire! We are glad the drought ended, but it doesn't take a genius to know that wildfires would occur! It's not God's, Allah's, or any other God's will, not a conspiracy, not the end of times! It's a horrific disaster!! I cannot believe some of the comments, how uncaring and idiotic some of people are. What does your religion think of your behavior towards others' suffering? If YOU & your families were in the midst of this maybe you wouldn't be so cruel! We've seen fire devour one home & car and leave the one next door untouched, it's called fire science. Look it up and inform yourselves instead of making stupid comments! My family lives in the middle of this, and I've seen it happen many times in my 30 years here in the Sierra mountains. Those who stupidly think all Californians have mansions are IDIOTS! I live in a tiny room above a garage, my family in the Napa area scrape by working hard at jobs they started at as teens making minimum wage and since they all have good work ethics they've moved up a little, enough to finally afford a little rental house after years of living with room mates, you know, the way life normally goes for normal people?! What you COULD be doing is praying, donating $5.00 or offering to help in some way. Instead, you happily watch others misery and think it will never happen to you, and I hope it doesn't.* #PrayForCA #PrayForNV #PrayForPeace #PrayForTheWorld or if you don't pray, do what you can to help others, anywhere & everywhere.

    The years of drought seriously affected the trees in the woodlands, but the residential trees have been watered. Makes a big difference. A lot of forest fires leave trees alive. Houses built so close together create a conflagration, add the wind and there you have it. Drove through one of the neighborhoods the other day, and there was part of a white picket fence still standing, still white. The most amazing thing is that scattered throughout the Fountain Grove area, there are houses seemingly untouched.

      +butter face - "I guess if you play the game...you get your fame...at horrible costs." - Cruel, cruel comment. I live in the Sierra mountains and years ago we lost one entire part of Tahoe (my friends lost their homes, I was packed for evacuation but it missed me) and people made hurtful comments like yours, all idiots do when it's not THEM, no matter where one lives. Lake Tahoe is clean and pristine, it's where my nieces & nephews were born. But it's hard to make a living here, so my brother, a single Dad of 3 kids all pre-schoolers, moved his family down there to work and to finish his Master's degree, and raise his kids the best he could. He dropped dead at 50. The kids all had their first teenage jobs, so they are still living there, still productive citizens, still only in their 20's.. So you're saying they deserve this?? Why? Because they stuck with their jobs? Because even though Tahoe is 'home' to them, they stayed because they loved their Dad (my brother)?? They wanted to make their Dad proud of them? Ugh! I'm wondering just what kind of 'play' and 'fame' you mean? People like you make me sick!

      Try burning green wood in a fireplace or a wood stove and you'll see it won't catch fire easily. But homes and buildings contain at least 5 tons of dry wood which will catch fire in a jiffy.

      What people don't understand, is that these fires are wind driven by Diablo Winds, which is a phenomenon in the Bay Area during a less than one month period from late September to mid October (every year), where offshore winds from the Pacific Ocean blow onshore and across the bay (westward). They are many times erratic shifting winds (which is one reason they are called Diablo Winds, but mostly because of the "Diablo Mountain Range" they cross), and as high as 85 mile an hour gusts. That is why temperatures were hot enough, to literally melt steel, aluminum, glass, etc. But most of those things you mentioned are there. You just can't see them in the video.

    Looks like the fire was spreading house to house. This is why some buildings in Europe have to be built out of bricks with tile roofing, they lost a few wooden cities in a dramatic fashion 100's of years ago. Now we use wood again because we figure the fire trucks will get there before it spreads. But we had a fire here where I live a few years back that took out 5 houses because the firetruck got stuck in the snow. Of course it wasn't anything like in this video, clearly the fire here was beyond the ability of the firefighters to respond.

      Think back to the Italy quakes earlier this year, an abnormal amount of structures collapsed from a relatively smaller quake measuring 6.1.

    • @kansasthunderman1
      @kansasthunderman1 Před 6 lety

      Most of the fuel load in these fires was from homes and buildings and not green trees. Homes contain at least 5 tons of flammable wood which will quickly burn out of control. Try throwing a lit match on a green tree or green lawn and it won't ignite.

    • @romalyngilay8651
      @romalyngilay8651 Před 6 lety +1

      kansasthunderman1 interesting. So how do true forest fires start? From a house fire and not from dry heat? Was Smokey the Bear lying this whole time? Hmmm me thinks this is from scalar weapons

    • @kansasthunderman1
      @kansasthunderman1 Před 6 lety +2

      The trees were not flammable pine or eucalyptus so they did not ignite. The fires were started by something igniting and the winds spread the flames to nearby homes and buildings. Each home or building contains about 5 tons of flammable wood and other stuff which provides an enormous fuel load and the winds created a blast furnace that spread the flames in a chain reaction.

      That flash of light at 3:51 is very interesting. The light travels across two frames in the video in a very straight line (man made) and over a calculable distance in the scene. By checking the frame rate used by the the drone camera, I think the speed of that light beam can be determined quite accurately. That info might help understand what technology is being used here.

    A little question: if a fire like this happens, let's say, in Louisiana, if the firemen of this state aren't enough to put out this fire, isn't the governor of Louisiana allowed to call for help of his neighboring states (TX, AR, and MS) to provide him more firemen?

    • @potrelviewer9536
      @potrelviewer9536 Před 6 lety +1

      I asked that, because in France, when a fire happens near Marseille, for example, if it's too strong for the local firemen, the neighboring departments (equivalent of counties) are allowed to provide some new firemen to help the town of Marseille out.

      California Office of Emergency Services published a report that they had requested "Resources" aka firefighters, FEMA personnel, etc, from multiple states and even reached out to Australia for aid. This is common if the event is formally declared an emergency by the Governor's Office.

  • @kansasthunderman1
    @kansasthunderman1 Před 6 lety

    This is the result of the usual "Build, Build, Build" mantra from the real estate and construction industry. As more and more open land is covered with homes and buildings, there's a lot more to burn, and it burns very hot.
    Note that the green trees and grass did not burn. But those homes and buildings contained at least 5 tons of flammable dry wood and other stuff that was easily ignited and added to the fuel load. Those homes were also spaced way too close and the fires jumped from one home to another in a chain reaction. The same thing happened in San Francisco after earthquake and fire of 1906 and a lot of the city will go up again.
    This is also a prime example of why we cannot have an economy based on endless population growth and development. It will eventually self destruct in a literal inferno.
