Spiders are great at killing smaller insects and mosquitoes that often spread deadly diseases like malaria.
But cats are good too because they'll catch these spiders so it's like the circle of life or whatever. You can tell they keep this cat around to deal with vermin bc it snatched that spider up like it didn't know when it's next meal was going to be, which is how cats have been used for thousands of years with cat food being a somewhat recent invention.

Cats can be lazy lil shits but they're good for getting rid of rats, roaches, spiders, lizards, etc. Brought a stray cat to my grans who've had a rat problem for awhile. Didn't know they had this problem until they called to thank me for leaving the cat with them.

Ever see the huge Australian spider? it's like 5 times bigger, when I see videos of spiders that big, snakes, scorpions, alligators etc it makes me feel better about living in a place with 5 months of winter a year
@kay scott I was gonna say they survive the winters inside houses and buildings etc but then I started to think of all the forests full of spiders in spring summer and autumn, they must burrow underground and or Hibernate throughout the cold or they lay a bunch of eggs that don't hatch til spring, whatever it is it stunts their ability to evolve and become the monsters they are in tropical climates

My friend's dad long ago had a Chow/Husky mix named Woody (the dog looked like a tan wine barrel on legs), would eat bees, yes, eat bees. For the life of us we never figured out how he never got stung.
This same dog was fed rather well as he got cooked ground beef and veggies at times and he would systematically pick out all the peas and set them to the side. He was quite a character
