She has won many awards including the Grand Prix in the 47th Japan Cable Awards, and has remained popular as a "Queen of Songs with Local Flair". She has firmly established herself as a female singer as last year, she celebrated her 25th anniversary since her debut.
She is also active as an ambassador for 24 locations across the globe, including the
goodwill travel ambassador for Honolulu and the travel ambassador for the Tottori Sand Dunes. With her latest single, "Narukokyo", she once again broke the record for being the number one female enka singer in history for Number of Songs Consecutively Making the Top 10 (18 songs), Years Consecutively Making the Top 10 (18 consecutive years), and Total Number of Songs Making the Top 10 (18 songs)!! She will continue to break records in the future.
