    I’ve heard a lot about Ghost but have never checked them out until now and now I get all the “Hype” behind them. They’re a modern day throw back to the classic 70’s stoner doom rock as the obvious “Black Sabbath” comes to mind but with a modern day Kiss aesthetics look which is very captivating. This track has an unbelievable extremely catchy rhythm driven by a solid back beat, slightly distorted dirty guitar tones and a great melodic haunting vocal delivery Followed with some very impressive impactful lyrical lines like “ I can feel the thunder that's breaking in your heart
    I can see through the scars inside you” And the kids talent show at Stephen kings “Carries” elementary school was a brilliant concept. Ghost has a great fresh sound from a classic nostalgic era that makes them very intriguing. Definitely looking forward to diving more into this almost mysterious sounding band. GAME OVER

      There are two kinds of haters.
      First - Emotionally unstable ones that dont like the costumes and they cant stand any criticism of their lord.
      Second - Crybaby metalheads: "The singer doesnt growl, their music sounds like 80's so theyre not metal" At some point theyre not really metal but do the normal people that just want to enjoy music care? I dont think so.

    The reason behind the hate is because Ghost' front man Tobias started the band just on his own. The first album was written entirely by him and it was a really raw, heavy and weird (in a good way) album. Then the next album released but with Tobias mainly taking the roll as the frontman/mascot. Still writing but having a full masked up band which also attracted people. As they've progressed as a band, the more pop and melody heavy they've become and less heavy. Which to most of the original fans hate because they want the raw heavy style to stay. I say, let the band do whatever they feel is right and what they enjoy. I love every album and every album is different then the last in a lot of ways. Tobias brings a lot to the band with his charisma and overall personality but also keeping this inner story of papa emeritus always changing and the bandmates being swapped out and changing outfits. I enjoy seeing a band invite change and to not be afraid to say to the fans that weather they like it or not, they're going to write music that brings them the most joy.

    • @angelvollant864
      @angelvollant864 Před rokem +5

      And not only that, but there is a whole story/plot to Ghost. Them being "representants" of the Clergy, and their goal being "attract as many people to our organization", it makes sense that they'd go from niche "weird" metal to a more pop style, as that attracts a ton of people.
      Also, I read a comment on Cirice that Ghost has instruments and beats that are metal as heck, yet the singer has a bandboy type voice.

    I only got into Ghost in a big way with the release of their latest album. But going back, I should have given them a bigger listen-to 10 years ago when I first heard them. As for their genre, you can't allow yourself to put them in a category because they more or less change every album. In 2022, their album Impera would be classified as like 70s & 80s pop metal.
