    Ok, NOW Revali’s Gale is ready

  • @AutistaTLPoso
    @AutistaTLPoso Před 3 lety +97

    Something extra here:
    If you dodge cancel out of certain parts of the ground strong attacks (only second and third), you're actually able to get in the air faster than using his unique action.

  • @ReitheOffbeatOtaku
    @ReitheOffbeatOtaku Před 3 lety +92

    A couple interesting little mechanics that weren't in this guide:
    1. Revali can dodge cancel out of his grounded C2 and (extended) C3 combos once the gale winds spawn to immediately take flight afterwards, letting him immediately transition to his aerials without the startup animation of pressing ZR.
    2. The two versions of his stasis runes last for different amounts of time, with the grounded one keeping enemies frozen for about two seconds longer.
    And 3. His grounded C3 can actually grab enemies he hits with his stasis, unlike the Great Fairies' command grab. Combined with the wide range of his stasis, this means you can grab one of the smaller enemies surrounding a named one and catch it in the flurry of bomb arrows, which does a surprising amount of weak-point gauge damage. (You can also aim the aforementioned bomb arrows in the extended C3 combo while he shoots them, which I didn't realize for way too long, lol.) Still a pretty bizarre move overall, but it's more versatile than you might expect.
    This guide did a good job covering the basics, but I'd highly recommend implementing these three mechanics I mentioned into your gameplay if you want to master Revali.

    Revali is one of the ones I was drawn to at first myself. His Unique action is simple but can be extremely effective when you know what you're doing with his aerial playstyle.
    The big thing is that he's similar to Riju in that YOU CAN'T STOP MOVEING. As long as you keep on the move, you're practically untouchable. Most bosses with still use grounded attacks against you so you can simply counter attack when they're finished.
    Now....an Aerial battle Style my not be for everyone, but for those can take the time to learn him, he'll be able to match the ego that he so famously has.

He just rips through the smaller enemies very quickly and dodge cancelling out of his stasis rune after he fires the volley so you can get some quick hits in is just nuts. Ah yes, stasis rune: the character.

Slap some range and mid-air attack+ on the lad and you've essentially got the most broken champion in the game, right up there with Mipha and her free healing.

His C6 forces weakpoint damage so masterful execution of his combo (or passable execution if you build him with attack speed) will allow him to just stop all bosses from doing anything.

    I think the forced grounding strong attacks are good to use when a weak point gauge is out, or when you want to use your Rods.
    Both of those can only be done on the ground, so you can easily use the tornado combo directly into a weak point smash easier than you could by landing on his unique action.
    For Rods especially, giving yourself free cover through the tornado, or making distance through the bomb arrow (C5 and C6 I believe?) Can be helpful for taking advantage of elemental weaknesses and the like.

    • @CJSai64

      When a WP Gauge is out, a Stasis Attack (taunt cancelled) into ground combo should be more than enough to deal with most enemies (aside from the new Vicious enemies or if they are at a significantly higher lvl than you.)

      Btw, Bomb rune *always* does WP damage. You can always use that if you left like 1 wedge left.

      @saltedsins Před 3 lety +6

      Ngl, I found him to be one of the best champions (up there with Mipha and Teba) for boss-slaying. His unique mechanic makes him pretty much untouchable considering bosses' tendencies for sweeping, ground-based attacks (in particular, Lynels slow, telegraphed attacks are hella easy to dodge/counter when you can just flick your way out of their range and demolish their weak points from afar. (That stasis rune has a HUGE AoE and chews through gauges like Kohga's eye-laser on steroids) Add some range to his attacks and he just gets stupid broken.
      It's really all about making sure you've got the right kit for his arsenal, which does make him one of the more grind-y fighters at the start, but he really shines mid-late game if you invest in his equipment.

    Am I bad at aiming his C4 attack for headshots, or is it just not possible? I can do it for Link's arrows or Impa's kunai.

    Why does Revali need Revali's Gale to fly if his already a bird, and Teba also flies and doesn't need it. It`s kinda weird. Also, almost every unique action boost the characters strenght; Zelda Bow of light, Urbosa, Sidon, Yunobo, Monk, Ganon Etc.
    (I don´t have the game...yet, sorry if i'm wrong, and if i am, please correct me

      Me too, but they didn't want to give the same weapons to different warriors so people wouldn't ask why they can't share weapons, probably...

  • @drasticallycourageous3894

    The one thing you forgot is that during Revali's second strong attack on the ground, you can ride the wind to get back up.
    One other thing is that Revali's super can also get screwed up by the environment, often getting stuck in thin corridor levels
