For some reason, every time I hear Luke singing "I don't care where our parents may be, so as long as you are here with me" always makes me feel sad. Because he did care where his dad was. The whole thing happened because a bunch of half-bloods didn't feel important. I think what I really love about this song is, they've all got different types of problems. Silena and Katie's moms are annoying and in Silena's case kinda rude. On the other hand, Luke and Annabeth's godly parents could probably even be considered neglectful. But you know what? Not once did anyone say, "your problems aren't valid" or "aren't that bad." Everyone respected that they've each got their own stuggles and problems. In the words of Sally Jackson, "Everyone has issues they're dealing with."
I love the slight instrumental shifts. The harmonica is great, plus the key shifts.. piano with Katie, bells with Silena, pipes for Grover, introduction of tambourine, Chiron’s subtle piano, the shift in key with Percy...it gives it a nice personality for each character.
i was at a camp literally a few weeks ago and everyone was singing the regular, well-known campfire song but my friend and i sat in a corner away from the campfire and just kinda recited this one it was sad
i like to think that after the PJO series was over, the Apollo cabin made Percy and everyone else do this, with Will and Nico directing, Austin doing the music, and Katie as cheographer, and they just made Annabeth be in charge of the swordfighting scenes, and Nico volunteered to be Luke. Then, once it was ready, they told Chiron to see if the gods would be willing to come down to see it or if they could go up to Mt. Olympus to perform it for them. All the Olympians, plus Hades, went to see it at Camp Half Blood. I like to think that by the end the gods are all crying (except Artemis. She's just looking around at everyone and think, _This is why I don't have kids_ )because they realize how bad they are at being parents. The next day, during breakfast, everyone kinda just sits there watching, because the gods were _walking_ back down to camp, and they all hung out with their kids. Percy and Poseidon went fishing bu the ocean, Apollo and his kids sing and practice archery together, Aphrodite and her kids go to the mall to shop, Zeus and Jason went for a flight to the skies, the Demeter kids and Demeter kinda just talk, Hephesteus and his kids talk while working, Athena and her kids gush about books and history, Ares and his kids practice fighting, and Hermes and his kids just play pranks on everyone else. Then Athena shouts at Hermes, "You don't need to give them more bad influences!" And then it became a tradition every weekend. The end

I think what I really love about this song is, they've all got different types of problems. Silena and Katie's moms are annoying and in Silena's case kinda rude. On the other hand, Luke and Annabeth's godly parents could probably even be considered neglectful. But you know what? Not once did anyone say, "your problems aren't valid" or "aren't that bad." Everyone respected that they've each got their own stuggles and problems. In the words of Sally Jackson, "Everyone has issues they're dealing with."

I love the slight instrumental shifts. The harmonica is great, plus the key shifts.. piano with Katie, bells with Silena, pipes for Grover, introduction of tambourine, Chiron’s subtle piano, the shift in key with Percy...it gives it a nice personality for each character.

i was at a camp literally a few weeks ago and everyone was singing the regular, well-known campfire song but my friend and i sat in a corner away from the campfire and just kinda recited this one

i like to think that after the PJO series was over, the Apollo cabin made Percy and everyone else do this, with Will and Nico directing, Austin doing the music, and Katie as cheographer, and they just made Annabeth be in charge of the swordfighting scenes, and Nico volunteered to be Luke. Then, once it was ready, they told Chiron to see if the gods would be willing to come down to see it or if they could go up to Mt. Olympus to perform it for them. All the Olympians, plus Hades, went to see it at Camp Half Blood. I like to think that by the end the gods are all crying (except Artemis. She's just looking around at everyone and think, _This is why I don't have kids_ )because they realize how bad they are at being parents. The next day, during breakfast, everyone kinda just sits there watching, because the gods were _walking_ back down to camp, and they all hung out with their kids. Percy and Poseidon went fishing bu the ocean, Apollo and his kids sing and practice archery together, Aphrodite and her kids go to the mall to shop, Zeus and Jason went for a flight to the skies, the Demeter kids and Demeter kinda just talk, Hephesteus and his kids talk while working, Athena and her kids gush about books and history, Ares and his kids practice fighting, and Hermes and his kids just play pranks on everyone else. Then Athena shouts at Hermes, "You don't need to give them more bad influences!"
And then it became a tradition every weekend. The end
