Royal Enfield Hunter 350 valve clearance, and going for a ride

Back when I did my 500km service, I thought other people might like a little reference on how to get at the valves and check they are in spec, So i recorded it and here it is!
I also included a clip of me going down to the cafe, just because I had filmed it right after doing my service.
(Inlet valve 0.08mm, exhaust gap is 0.18mm and forgot to mention in video spark plug electrode gap spec is 0.7-0.8mm)

Thanks. Sorry I was slow on the upload and didnt get it out in time, but there are a few guides on the classic 350 which is pretty similar that I'm sure you saw.
I'm also at around 2000km now, but I was just unfortunately too busy to go through and edit/record for the video earlier.
I actually did my valves 3 times haha
The first time, at 500km, I had to loosen both. The tappets became somewhat louder and I was concerned, so a few days later I took it apart and double checked, but was still at spec. After cruising the forums and stopping by my dealer, it was established that pretty much everyone has to loosen the valves at first service and result in increased top end noise.Then when I finally got around to making this video more than 1000km later, I couldn't find the footage of the 20 seconds actually adjusting the valves, so I had to do it a 3rd time just to film the adjustment!
Ride safe indeed, and get some footage of your bike so I can see your set up! The dapper grey is a nice colour.

I had an issue (on my first service) whilst doing it myself, with the gasket,
I took it all off, then it leaked,
So I had to go back in, and i had to use black silicone sealant, no worries now though, it's running great 👍
I own an Interceptor, and I live in Yorkshire UK, so my Interceptor is not being used at the moment, but in the spring, I'll be doing a service on it,
Including the tappets, the Hunter has given me the confidence to tackle the Interceptor now, even though I've always done my own Oil and Filter changes on my Bike's,

The gasket can definitely be a little tricky. I just go around the edge with a torch and a small blunt tool, like the back of a pen, and just poke it into position with one cover bolt in barely at the end of thread to just locate the valve cover but still allow some motiion. Removing it the whole way, as you have, does require re-applying some liquid gasket around the side cut out where it is applied from factory.
But its good you had the knowledge to fix it!
I'm not sure why its encouraged to change the gasket on first service, I believe the service kit is sold with it as well. The top end is not under much oil pressure at all, so as long as the gasket is still pliable and the valve cover is being torqued back down correctly each time I wouldn't replace it until it is degraded. It isn't really something that can lead to a catastrophic failure, you should notice an oil leak or smell before it starves of oil.
I love the interceptor, It was a coin flip between the hunter and interceptor for me, but I decided until I move out of the city I just couldn't justify the bigger bike. Maybe in a few years I'll get one.
And sorry about the youthful music haha, but alas I am somewhat young, and it was music that I had creative rights to use. Unfortunately I don't yet own an action camera with a wind proof microphone, I am just using my phone strapped to my helmet with a $15 amazon mount. The audio is completely blown out with wind noise and you cannot hear the great enfield sound almost at all. I hope maybe in the future I could afford to purchase a GoPro or DJI action camera, then I can get some much better footage and also a better soundtrack!

Great material, beautifully made, clean work. I also want to do it myself at the first inspection after 500 km, but the fact that the warranty has expired does not motivate me a bit...
As for the activities you perform in the video - are the clearance adjustment screws ended with a square or do they only have a cutout for a screwdriver?

They are slotted on the top of the adjusters, but the frame gets in the way so could either use a very short or very long screwdriver. I just used a blade I had on the work bench.
For this, Do we need to drain Engine oil?
no, we are only removing the rocker cover and are not working below the resting oil level. Though most of the services where I think you do valves, you also do oil. If you do change oil as part of a service, do it before or after valves, but I wouldn't probably do it in the middle, as it is likely easier to rotate the crank and piston assembly to TDC while is has lubrication. Best to just do one job a time too, saves confusion.
Does it need to be done again and again ?
It will need to be done according to the schedule in the owners manual. Valve clearance checking is a normal service task on most motorcycles.
So much reflektion on the numbers , is it now 0,03 or 0,08 mm for inlet?? And how much mm for outlet? This is one of the most important information? Can not read and recognize the most important informations , thats not good, sorry

0.08mm inlet, 0.18mm outlet.
