I had found the perfect dress, put down large deposit, parents met each other, my dad promised to match FILs $500 donation to help pay. I was making $6.25/hr and paid for most of wedding with my check while fiancé handled bills. Time to pay dress to check for alterations. Dad gas lit me and said "I never said that" (5 witnesses) . I left my parents home that night. I went shopping for a $20 clearance prom dress on my lunch break. Alone. Cherish your parents. Please. You are blessed. Btw my husband is the love of my life and my absolute hero. I adore that man.

I hired a limo and spent seriously cash on flowers for her and her mom and she wore her mother's prom dress. I have never in my life seen a more beautiful girl than Beth. She was stunningly beautiful on any average day but on prom night she SMOKED like the young lady in this video.
Thats a beautiful story. It's so nice and refreshing that there are young high schoolers that have respect for there parents and aren't self centered and self absorbed thinking that everything has to be bought. This is refreshing.

Not all prom dresses of the 1990s aged well, but this one clearly aged beautifully! Her mom chose a classic color, style, and fit! Looks stunning on the daughter! My mother's May Day [prom] dresses were from the early 1970s. I played in them as a little girl, but they're massively dated. Psychedelic bright flowered chiffon with long sleeves and wide cuffs at the wrist with frills of sorts coming off the cuffs. It also had a turtle neck with the same sorts of frills coming off the neck. My mother was also petite, whereas I'm an average height with a slight build, and my sister is taller with a wider build. Neither my sister nor I could have worn that dress in high school, despite being fit. lol
Momma have mad style. That dress DOES NOT look like it’s 24 years of age. She really does have the best daughter ever and she have the best momma ever.
I wore my mom’s high school prom dress… She was in high school in the 50s I was in high school in the 80s it was incredibly awesome. I had loved that dress since I was a little girl.

My son's Jr Prom was 25 years ago this April. His date wore a dress of similar fabric/silhouette. Simple, classic styles age beautifully.
