    My sister grew up listening Led Zeppelin, because of Rock and Roll
    My brother grew up listening with Deep Purple, because of their power and psychedelic style
    And I grew up listening Black Sabbath, because of their dark and Heavy style.
    Long live these three Legends 🖤

      In Zeppelin more than Rock and Roll, it is for Blues-Rock; on Purple for its neoclassicism rather than psychedelics from his early Evans-era albums; and Sabbath yes because of its darkness, but also because of its speed and rawness.

      Eh, your right on Sabbath, Zep was like more of a hard blues rock on first 2 albums, Zep 3 is well, Zep 3, Zep 4 was the sound of early 70s hard rock, HOTH was a progish album, PG and Presence were again hard rock, etc., so not really rock n roll, Purple instead, yes, was psychadelic in their early days, in terms of genres and consistency, they were a total mess

      You are really good. What an amazing idea of using the idea of cutting heads with great metal bands riffs next to each other. It really puts the music in perspective with each other. It does kinda make me choose my favorites, but my tastes change over time. I may have chose differently back in the 80's compared to my opinion of today. Still great memories of these great riffs.

The moves, behaviour, facial expressions, I love it man! Just as if there were 3 guys competing but having a great time at the same time. I appreciate the amount of work you put to make it look this way. Riffs - yeah they're great obviously, but they're like 50 years old, we all know them. But the way you feel the music and the way you rock is unique!

      Jimmy Page was a completely amazing guitarist for Led Zeppelin which may be possibly the most popular rock band of all time. Ritchie Blackmore was definitely a pioneer of Heavy Metal music, and had many amazing riffs, I loved his work with the Rainbow Rising album, ya not Deep Purple. Black Sabbath played along side the two bands shows how powerful the riffs were compared to music of similar genre was doing. Black Sabbath is the king of Heavy Metal.

    • @colinmcdonald2499
      @colinmcdonald2499 Před 5 lety +7

      Deep purple needs the organ to hold up which counts them out IMO. Zepplin needed John Paul Jones every bit as much as Sabbath needed Geezer Butler. Jones wrote every riff in Blackdog... Guitar and Bass. Black Dog was John Paul jones... And he had full writing creds on almost every zep masterpiece. Geezer was the primary lyricist of Sabbath and a huge part of their instrumental music.
      Zep and Sabbath are very interesting counterparts. Discard Deep Purple as a clear honorable mention.

    • @WinF64
      @WinF64 Před 5 lety +14

      All three bassists from these bands were great. Geezer and John Paul Jones were obviously a huge part of their bands' sound, but don't underestimate Roger Glover either. The bass line from Highway Star is fantastic.

    • @colinmcdonald2499
      @colinmcdonald2499 Před 5 lety +6

      @@WinF64 I love Highway Star. the issue, sometimes, with bands with heavy organ is that the bass and organ players are both providing part of the bass line and sometimes it requires a studio engineer's ear ( or at least an amateur musician's ears) to separate them. I just listened to Highway star... The intro appears to be pure bass line.. But between the :16 and :20 second mark we definitely hear organ ( in bass register) lines accomanying Glover. Doesn't take away from Glover, at least it shouldn't because you are most correct, he carries that song and it is an epic song. As a trained ( def. amateur) musician, I think what made Deep Purple's groove was that it was a 5 piece band... They fell back on the organ to carry the groove a bit too much... I love the organ groove 75% of the time... But sometimes Deep Purple got a bit too much between the vocals and the organ
      I think this is why the Alman Brother's Band ( They weren't metal, to be clear, but they were equally heavy as any of the three... Early and possibly the best live group of the above 3 (Live at the fillmore East is One of the greatest live albumns) that is my point about the Alman Brothers Band's individual members often get overlooked as individual performers. It was a big ensemble: Two epic guitarists , two or three great drummers at any given time. An epic bassist and an epic keys player... Love Butch Trucks... His bass riff from whipping post ( especially from Live From the Fillmore East ) will stack up against any Zep sabbath or deep purple tracks... But often, greg Alman was backing the bass with addition organ( same as in Deep Purple) In the case of Zep... Jones was the keys player ... So he put his bass down to play No Quarter and played bass through foot pedals and the low register.
      I won't bring 3 pieces into this.... But Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience and later Rush ( speaking of bands who's bassist either played synth on a mini moog with his feet, while ripping bass, or ripped bass with a mini moog wirh his feet while playing synth... While singing over the top vocals that divide us, much like Deep Purple) all deserve some honorable mentions in the Heavy Rock category ( I just did, oops).
      Back to the 3 mentioned. Based on total influence, and the fact that Sabbath and Zep were nearly identical 4 piece ensembles... It is very clear cut that Deep Purple ( a 5 piece) is in a different category. I'd argue that Deep Purple is a bit less influential as well, also had line up changes... I digress.

      @@tanyawhite2751 IMHO Paice is better. He has more technique and finesse (formerly a jazz player if I recall correctly) and when he wanted, he could pound really hard. Bonham may have produced better all around grooves, but Paice was more versatile and a better soloist. When Ritchie and Jon were back in the mix (the few times) Paice could fill the spaces like no other in the business. Don't forget that John Paul Jones is one of the best bassists (actually, he was the most talented musician in LZ) so Bonzo had better rhythmic support than Ian. Don't get me wrong, Glover is exceptional, but Jones is on the top 10 british rock bassists of the 70s.

      Three of my favorite guitarists growing up. Jimmy Page Ritchie Blackmore and the legendary Tony Iommi. You gotta love it. !!!

      I won’t change it. By far the most talented four musicians to ever play in one band.

      @@caiostrasser128 yes, deep purple are another very talented band. And I love a lot of their music as well. But their talent doesn't match Led Zeppelin's.

      @@eliasswift2921 I prefer led zeppelin, but without being a fanboy .... the deep purple musicians are superior, examples: ian gillan is technically much superior to the plant (just listen to child in time) Blackmore is far superior to the jimmy page (even though I prefer the page) blackmore is more diverse and innovative. John lord is better than john paul jones (this one has no discussion) ian paice and bonzo enter i don't know ... paice is more technical and bonzo is more emotional.

      @@caiostrasser128 I am not a Led Zeppelin fanboy, my profile picture might tell you otherwise lol. But without a doubt Bonham is the greatest drummer in rock and roll history, no matter how good Ian Paice is. Nobody can play a triplet like him, and nobody has feel as good as him. Ritchie Blackmore is a very underrated guitarist, and one of my favorites. But Page is just a god. I could listen to a live solo of his for two hours straight and never get bored. Well obviously Jon Lord is a better keyboard player than JPJ but JPJ is by far a better bassist than Roger Glover, even though he's also a very talented bass player. And even though there are aspects of Ian Gillan's vocals that might be better than Robert Plant, Robert just simply has a better voice. He's got an amazing bluesy raspiness and his moans are incredible.
