Julia Roberts has been making movies since the late 80's. She has 5 hits under her belt in all that time. Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, Notting Hill, My Best Friend's Wedding and Erin Brockovich. I can remember a few days before the debut of "My Best Friend's Wedding", film critic Gene Shallit, said this better be a hit, because she hasn't had one in 5 yrs, and if it isn't her career wouldn't be going anywhere any longer.

It was one of Julia's stronger performances but Ellen's in "Requiem for a Dream" is a mind-blower. In fact Burstyn said originally she didn't want the role because she knew it was going to be a rough ride emotionally. But Darren Aronovsky convinced her to do it and she more than rose to the challenge. Ellen Burstyn really should have won.

Nicole's win in 2003 was compensation for her loss the previous year for Moulin Rouge, she really deserved it more for Moulin Rouge than she did for The Hours.
